Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. MT on October 20, 2017 to 11:59 p.m. MT on December 15, 2017, to receive 33% additional Hilton Honors Bonus Points. Is It Worth It?

If you are short a few thousand Hilton points for a great redemption, then this is a great way to top up your balance. On the other hand, transferring Membership Rewards points in large quantities using this promotion is a poor use of those points.

While this promo may seem generous at first, it is only really handy if you need a quick top up to your Hilton account. There are better uses for hard-earned points from The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and you are better off transferring the points to airline miles.

  • I saw this when I was poking around their website for the Amex Everyday card. For some reason I feel like there is a cost to transfer the points from Amex to a partner? I like several of their partners but most don’t interest me. With having the Chase Sapphire I don’t know if I really want to divide up my charging.

    • Amex’s exact wording:

For each conversion of points into the Frequent Flyer program of a U.S. airline, a fee of $0.0006 per point, with a maximum fee of $99, will be charged to your Card account. We charge this fee to offset the federal excise tax we must pay on such conversions. The fee may be more or less than the actual amount of the excise tax we pay on any individual conversion.

  • I know you told me last time – but I want to make sure: This Promotion is for US-Cards only, is that correct?

  • This is probably okay for small transfer amounts to top-off one’s account immediately for a specific award, but generally, 1 MR : 2.01 HH with this bonus is still a terrible deal, considering one can earn 3HH/$1 on everyday spend with any HH Amex or the Citi Reserve.

  • This can be a good way to top off accounts for a redemption.

  • Do the bonus points post at some point after the initial transfer? After looking all over both the Amex and HH sites and not finding anything about this offer, I double checked your post about it and decided it had to be legit. However I just transferred 32k amex points and only have 48k HH points showing up in my HH account? Are you sure about this promo? Diamond with HH if it matters. Thanks for any info!

  • Great for Hilton loyalist. If I had a redemption planned for Hilton this would be an avenue to combine pts. Otherwise I have other plans for better partners
