While not one of the biggest names in the hotel industry, Wyndham is nonetheless a major hotel chain with 7,800 properties worldwide. Barclaycard has announced that its Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card is back with a 45K signup bonus.

You'll receive 30,000 bonus points after your first purchase and an additional 15,000 bonus points after you spend $2,000 within the first 90 days of account opening. The card comes with an annual fee of $75 and also gives you Wyndham Platinum status.

Platinum status itself confers some nice perks and benefits. Including free Wi-Fi, complimentary early check-in, complimentary late check-out, complimentary upgrades with Avis and Budget in the US and Canada. Finally, Platinum status earns a yearly 3,000 points bonus.

Why the Wyndham Program Has Value

One word: Simplicity. A free night in any of their properties prices out to 15,000 points. Unlike most other hotel loyalty programs which have an ascending cost scale depending on the property, rates are always predictable. When you consider that some the nicer properties in the Wyndham group can go for as much as $500 per night, there is potential for tremendous value; for example, you could stay 3 nights at the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts East End, Grand Cayman.

An alternative redemption strategy which also applies to all Wyndham properties is the fast and go redemption option, which prices a free night for 3,000 points plus cash. The amount you pay will vary and depends on the property.

In Summary

The signup bonus on this card makes it worth a look if you can find the right property to cash in on. Wyndham doesn't get much attention from a program perspective, but with a bonus like this available, you can't ignore the possible great value.
