Accor Hotels has announced a promotion where you'll earn 4x points for stays at “new” Accor properties. The promotion is valid for stays from October 15, 2018, through January 13, 2019. Although if you want to take advantage of the promotion, you will have to hurry, since you need to register and book before October 10, 2018.
- You need to register to earn 4X the points
- Registration must be complete and bookings made before October 10, 2018
- Promotion is valid for stays from October 15, 2018, through January 13, 2019
- Promotion is only valid at “New” participating properties
- Earn 4X the points on qualifying stays
- Allow 10 days for the points to post to your account
If you are familiar with the Accor brand, it will come as no surprise to find out that the list of participating hotels includes no hotels in the US or Canada. Most properties are located in Asia, specifically China, with a few in Europe, and a couple in Tokyo.
Is It Worth It?
As we mentioned earlier if you are based in the US this promotion might be too difficult to benefit from due to a lack of participating properties; however, if your international travel plans allow you to take advantage of it, then there is some value to be had.
A Classic Accor member earns 25 points for every qualifying €10 spent at all brands except at Ibis, Ibis Styles, Mama Shelter, Adagio, and Adagio Access, where the earning rates are lower. If you complete two stays priced at €100 per night using the promotion you will earn a total of 2,000 points for a total cost of €200.
You redeem Accor points at a value of €40 per 2,000 points. The promotion would represent a return of 20% which is pretty good value.
If your travel plans allow it then taking advantage of this promotion could prove quite lucrative. However, with a small booking window and a limited choice of properties in the US and Canada, we think it'll be mostly left on the table.
