Hilton is running a promotion for holders of its co-branded credit cards from both American Express and Citi. With this promotion, you can earn 5,000 Hilton bonus points after completing two stays between October 1, and December 31, 2017.
Key Terms
- You must register for the promotion, Citi cardholders need to register on a different page than the American Express cardholders registration page
- Promo is valid for stays through December 31, 2017
- Earn 5,000 points after completing two stays
- A stay is defined as consecutive nights in a hotel regardless of whether you check out or not
- The Amex offer includes all Hilton properties worldwide, while the Citi offer excludes properties in mainland China
- For the American Express promo you must pay with any American Express card. You don't need to specifically use a Hilton co-brand American Express card
- For the Citi promo you must pay with any Visa card.
- Allow 4-6 weeks for the points to post to your account
Overall
This is another great promo from Hilton Honors; if you don’t have a Hilton card, you can still pick up double points for stays through the end of the year. The breadth and depth of promotions are amongst the many things that make Hilton Honors an excellent reward program, including the generous 5th-night free benefit.

Great promotion. Mainly because it is easy and fairly unrestricted.
Signed up for both CC, since I just added the Amex,
I could use these bonus points. Saving up for the next Hilton redemption.
Howie,
After reading the fine print at Hilton, it seems that you have to have the card, but can pay with any Amex card and still get the bonus.
talk about needing to read the terms 5 times — I really missed that, sorry. Yes any Amex works with the American Express promo and any Visa works with the Citi promo. I’ve updated the post to state this.
Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you for the information. Registered.
good promo!
It says when you complete two stays using your card. Does this not mean you have to pay with your Hilton credit card? Your post says you do not need to use the card to pay.
You need to pay with your cards as is detailed in the promotion. I’ve added that language to the post as well.
Got a few emails on this and I kept forgetting to do it! argh! Thank goodness I have ya’ll! It’s an awesome promo and I hope to take advantage of it. Well then to me any bonus miles is great :O)
JonKarol asked about the Citi Hilton and what would happen…so you have heard that they will convert those cards to another Citi card? Or is that something that most credit card companies do?
Agree, another great offer for card holders.
$25.00 worth of HH points for 2 stays …
Great offer. Do you know if you can take advantage of this twice if you have two of the above cards? Would you still get points if one stay were from a comped stay or does it need to be a paid stay? Thank you.
I don’t know if it’ll work with both. As the terms read, in theory you could get one with Citi and one with Amex.
I always feel as if I cannot have too many Hilton points. I always want to keep adding to the coffer and this is an easy way to do so.
This is another great Hilton offer. Hilton Honors is by far my favorite hotel loyalty scheme.
Ugh. Of course I can’t match to Hilton Gold because I’m already gold
Great way to add some points if you have any plans. Any word on what happens to my Citi Hilton Visa after the end of the year?
Citi will convert it to another Citi card.
Nice little perk! Didn’t realize this was out there.
Thanks for this info. If it wasn’t for you I would have missed this bonus opportunity.
