Capital One Miles are a versatile point currency that can help you meet your travel goals. At a minimum, you can redeem Capital One Miles for travel purchases at a cent each. But you can get much more value when you transfer Capital One Miles to the program's airline and hotel partners — whether that's for domestic flights or overseas trips.
This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to transfer Capital One Miles to any of the program's 19 transfer partners. With this guide in your back pocket, you'll be well on your way to making a fantastic redemption with your Capital One Miles. Here's how to do it.
How To Transfer Capital One Miles to a Partner Program
The first step in transferring Capital One Miles to a partner is logging in to the Capital One website so you can see your accounts dashboard.

Pro Tip: If you have a Capital One credit card that rewards you with cash back instead of miles, note that you can convert Capital One cashback to miles. This unique feature opens up the ability to earn at higher rates on non-miles-earning cards while still having access to transfer partners.

Finding the Capital One transfer partners
Once you've arrived in your accounts dashboard, you'll want to click on “Travel.”

From there, find and click on “Convert rewards.”

Now, we've made it to the landing page where you'll see the entire list of Capital One transfer partners. If Capital One offers a transfer bonus to any of its partners, you'll see it displayed at the top of the screen in the “Featured Loyalty Program” section.

Linking your loyalty accounts
Once you click on any of the “Transfer Miles” buttons, you'll need to fill out a simple form to complete the transfer. Make sure you have your loyalty program number handy, as Capital One will ask for the name on the loyalty account and the affiliated account number.

The name on your loyalty account will need to match the username tied to the Capital One account; otherwise, the form won't process or your transfer may be delayed.
If you've previously transferred Capital One Miles to the same program, you shouldn't need to fill in the loyalty number again. Your information will be saved for future use.
Transferring Capital One Miles
Now, to the most exciting part of the process: transferring your Capital One Miles to an airline or hotel partner. To initiate a transfer, click on the transfer program you want to send points to. You'll then need to enter the number of Capital One Miles you would like to transfer.

You must transfer at least 1,000 miles. But for transfers above 1,000 miles, you can request transfers in 100-mile increments. For almost all partners, Capital One offers transfers at a 1:1 ratio — which makes the math simple. The two exceptions are Accor Live Limitless (2:1 transfer rate) and EVA Air Infinity MileageLands (4:3).
After confirming the transfer by clicking the green “Complete Transfer” button, you'll receive notice from Capital One via email that your points transfer is being processed.
In the majority of cases, points transfer instantly. You'll have access to your points as soon as you log into your partner loyalty account. On the off chance that your points don't transfer within minutes, you should have access to them within a couple of days. AwardWallet's transfer times tool also provides a helpful heads-up on what you should expect, based on transfer time data from AwardWallet users.
As soon as the points post to your partner loyalty account, you're free to start redeeming your airline miles or hotel points!
