Have you ever gone glamping? If not, it's a much more comfortable way to connect with nature. Rather than setting up your own tent and campfire, you can stay in a camp-like environment while also enjoying amenities like air conditioning and coffee. There's a big market for glamping, and WorldHotels has just capitalized on it with the launch of WorldHotels Backdrop.

Here's everything to know about WorldHotels Backdrop, and how to book your next upscale glamping experience.

What Is WorldHotels Backdrop?

WorldHotels is a collection of independent luxury and lifestyle hotels within the BWH Hotels portfolio. In other words, these hotels are bookable with Best Western Rewards points. WorldHotels Backdrop is a new brand under the WorldHotels umbrella, featuring a collection of upscale glamping retreats in scenic locations worldwide.

Currently, there are just three properties within WorldHotels Backdrop:

  • Zion Wildflower Resort, WorldHotels: Book safari-style tents and luxury glamping near Zion National Park.
  • Asheville River Cabins, WorldHotels: Enjoy newly renovated riverside cabins in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
  • The Lodge at Pico Bonito, WorldHotels (coming soon): Go for a rainforest escape and direct access to Pico Bonito National Park in Honduras.

Even though there are only three WorldHotels Backdrop properties at launch, WorldHotels is already considering additional locations on beaches in Vietnam and for safari experiences in Africa and Australia. With a positive response, this could quickly become a major collection of glamping retreats worldwide.

Glamping certainly doesn't come cheap. A standard room with an unattached bathroom at Zion Wildflower Resort in September 2026 will start at $204 per night. Once you tack on taxes and fees, you're looking at almost $700 for a three-night stay.

If you wanted to pay in points, you'd spend 36,000 Best Western Rewards points per night, which wouldn't give you a great valuation. If you want to go glamping, it might make more sense to earn points on your stay instead.

Bottom Line

Glamping isn't for everyone, but if you enjoy it, you now have an additional brand option for your next retreat. However, WorldHotels Backdrop is still something to save up for. Even though you're technically in a tent, you'll pay $200+ per night for the experience. You might associate camping with a budget getaway, but the glamping price reflects a variety of amenities, like high-quality beds, on-site recreational options, easy access to nature, high-speed internet, and more.
