  • These reduced awards are terrific for those who can actually use them to AA’s destinations. Sadly, I’m not in that club.

This is a great way to use miles. I’ve flown from Chicago to Rochester NY, Rochester MN, and Durham for 15,000 miles round trip when flights were priced around $500. Probably the best deal on the market. I recommend you check for these award tickets quarterly.

  • Is there a place where all destinations are listed?

  • I wish I could use them but I live in Hawaii

  • Karen Klein says:

I used to have the card but then found I didn’t use it all that often and got rid of it. Maybe some day look at the barclay card with them but never again Citi since they had such a hard time figuring out I wanted to close my account. Would love to take advantage of this but well I’m ok with not, too. I still have plenty of way to enjoy the use of my American miles :o) Thank you for the update!

  • I was hoping to find a discounted award from Chicago to San Francisco this summer. This route is not available for a discounted award.

    • amzsinger@gmail.com says:

It’s usually cities with less traffic during the time period, but sometimes I’ve found some surprises.

  • A decent discount, assuming one can actually find award availability.

  • This is kinda cool. AAdvantage has been getting worse, this is at least a step in the right direction.

  • Never knew about this benefit before! Cheers

    • amzsinger@gmail.com says:

Don’t forget they change every quarter and are dependent on the type of charge card you have.

  • Thanks for this! I’m looking to book a few summer flights.

  • Awesome glad to see these offers coming up more and more often

  • Nothing here I could actually book.

Only redemptions that make sense are with partners airlines. Thats where the best value and most availability exists.

  • This is great info and very timely. I have miles expiring soon but they’re not enough to really use. This discount should get me there. Thanks for heads up!

  • Hard to determine which ones really have a terrific value for me. I’m like everyone else……I want a true “deal.”

  • Paul Milligan says:

great deals if you can use them

  • Unfortunately I can’t see anything that is of any use to me, but I’m sure there are some fantastic deals for those that can take advantage of them.

  • amzsinger@gmail.com says:

Just booked a great flight for 15,000 miles round trip!!!!

  • amzsinger@gmail.com says:

Ugh!! Having a tough time using miles and reduced awards for summer travel. Anyone else having any luck??
