IHG and Aeroplan launched a new promotion offering 1,000 bonus Aeroplan points per eligible IHG stay. The promotion is valid for stays through January 31, 2023, and you can earn a maximum of 15,000 Aeroplan points with the offer.

How to Set Your Earning Preferences

Changing your earning preferences is simple. You need to follow a few easy steps, and it is done. You need to first log into your IHG One Rewards account and then click on the preferences tab.

Now you can scroll down to the bottom of your preferences page. There you will find the earning preferences section. You can now select airline miles.

You are then to select a program from the drop-down menu and add your name, frequent flier number, and name.

Boosting Your Aeroplan Points Balance

You have many options when it comes to boosting your Aeroplan points balance. Fortunately, you can transfer points from most of the major flexible points currencies to Air Canada Aeroplan, including:

• American Express Membership Rewards transfer to Aeroplan at a ratio of 1:1. Transfers typically occur immediately.
• Capital One Miles transfers to Aeroplan at a ratio of 1:1. Transfers are also immediate.
• Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to Aeroplan at a ratio of 1:1. Transfers are quick, taking around an hour.
• Marriott Bonvoy points transfer to Air Canada Aeroplan at a ratio of 3:1 with 5,000 bonus Aeroplan points per 60,000 Bonvoy points transferred. Transfers can take between 4 and 5 days to hit your account.

If you have planned upcoming IHG stays and are an Aeroplan fan, this promotion is a nice bonus. AwardWallet users have leveraged Aeroplan points for an average value of 3.05 cents per point. Maximizing the promotion and earning 15,000 points would give you $457.5 worth of value.
