$600 hotel credit offered with American Express Platinum Card® applies to prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts® or The Hotel Collection bookings made via American Express Travel®. The Hotel Collection requires a minimum two-night stay.

Eligibility is limited for the Amex Offers discussed in this post. Enrollment is required in the Amex Offers section of your account before redeeming.

If you've got the American Express Platinum Card®, you might be unaware that the card is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Originally launched in the U.S. and Canada in 1984, Amex is treating Platinum cardholders with some nice offers to celebrate.

You can find these offers in your Amex Offers area within your account. While many of these 40th anniversary offers are related to travel, not all of them are. Additionally, some are offering cash back, while others are offering bonus points. Here's what we're seeing for Platinum Card® 40th anniversary offers.

Travel-Related Platinum Card® 40th Anniversary Offers

Many of these offers are related to travel, which definitely makes us happy. You might find an offer for $40 back after spending at least $180 with Delta, but note that this offer only applies to bookings made through Amex Travel.

However, this JetBlue offer doesn't require booking through Amex Travel, so booking directly works here for getting $50 back after spending at least $200.

If you're looking for a cruise offer, this one from Oceania provides 10 bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent, up to 40,000 points. You'll maximize this offer with $4,000 of spending.

Hertz has an offer for $40 back after spending at least $150.

And there's an offer for $40 back after spending at least $180 with Hilton.

Remember that all of these offers require enrolling for the offer and then using your enrolled card to make a qualifying purchase. If you don't enroll and then use that same card, you won't receive the bonus points or cash back.

There's also an interesting offer on Amex Travel for a third night free at over 200 Fine Hotels + Resorts® properties. This could be a great opportunity to stack your Platinum Card® up to $600 annual hotel credit with a third night free. Travel dates and terms vary by property, but you can find out more here.

Non-Travel Platinum Card® 40th Anniversary Offers

We've seen additional offers as well. These include:

  • Lululemon: Get 5 bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent, up to 4,000 points.
  • Sephora: Get 5 bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent, up to 4,000 points.
  • Telecharge: Get $40 back after spending at least $180.
  • Wine.com: Get 10 bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent, up to 4,000 points.

Bottom Line

Remember that these offers can be targeted, so not everyone will see the same offers — if any. Plus, you need to enroll for the offers before using them, and they all have expiration dates. However, these can present some great discounts or extra earnings on upcoming purchases. Personally, I'm most excited about the third night free at Fine Hotels + Resorts.
