Some people with The Bilt Mastercard® are receiving targeted emails for a promotion to earn 5x points on select purchases over the next couple months, such as Amazon and food delivery services. You will need to check your email or app to see if you received the offer, which should be valid for 60 days after you receive it. Here are the details of this offer on the Bilt Mastercard.
The Bilt Mastercard® 5X Points Promotion
This is a targeted promotion. Bilt has sent out emails to select The Bilt Mastercard® cardholders with a promotion to earn 5X points in select categories. Members are reporting an offer for one to three categories, or not receiving an offer at all. Check your inbox for an email with the subject “Extra Bilt Points, Just for You.”
Here are the categories that are potentially available to earn 5X points with:
- Amazon.com
- Specific food delivery services: Caviar, DoorDash, Grubhub, Seamless, and UberEats
- Phone and internet bills
Some people have reported seeing this promotion in their offers on the Bilt App, but you should have an email (perhaps check your spam folder). Either way, this is definitely targeted, and not everyone will get the offer — nor will they get all three categories. The only consistency seems to be the 5x points (4x bonus points on top of the 1x base points).
Key terms
- This promotion runs through August 13, 2023 for most people.
- The promotion is valid for 60 days after you receive the email or offer in the Bilt App.
- Receive 5x points for every dollar spent in your targeted categories. You will receive the regular 1x points, plus 4x bonus points.
- You can earn a maximum of 5,000 bonus points per category with this promotion.
- To receive the bonus, you must make five transactions on your Bilt Mastercard per statement period.
- Purchases outside your targeted categories will not qualify for the promotion.
- Allow up to seven days for the bonus points to post to your account.
Other Bilt Points-Earning Options
Earning Bilt points is pretty straightforward, and you primarily earn points through spending on the Bilt Mastercard. If you make at least five qualifying transitions per statement period, you will earn points at the following rates:
- 1x on rent payments, capped at 100,000 points annually.
- 2x on travel purchases.
- 3x on dining purchases.
- 1x on all other purchases (without limits).
Remember, you can still earn Bilt points for rent payments, even if you do not hold the Bilt Mastercard. However, your earning potential is capped at 250 points per payment.
There are also the Bilt Rent Day promotions on the first of every month, which give up to 6x points in certain categories. This current promotion does not apply to spending on Bilt Rent Day or rent payments, but it may stack with bonus earnings from dining during Rent Day.

Using Your Bilt Points
A relative newcomer to the flexible credit card points currencies, Bilt has hit the ground running and has added some excellent transfer partners — from World of Hyatt and United Airlines to Asia Miles and Air Canada Aeroplan.
The transfer ratio for all partners is 1:1. You can transfer your Bilt Rewards points to any of the following travel partners:

If you haven't received the email yet, check your spam folder to see if it's there. You also can check the Bilt Rewards app for any notifications. The promotion ends 60 days from when you received your email, so don't wait too long. Just remember that you will forfeit any bonus points with this promotion (or any other Bilt promotion) if you don't make five transactions within each statement period using your Bilt Mastercard.

Data point for everyone – gas purchases at my local BJ’s Wholesale Club counted for this Bilt 3x bonus as well as the Chase Freedom (5x). YMMV, but it definitely works at my specific store, which is great, since its gas price has been > 30¢ cheaper than all nearby stations.
