Marriott and Uber have teamed up again to offer a promotion to earn Bonvoy points when linking your accounts. This offer is only valid for the first time you link your Marriott Bonvoy and Uber accounts, and it runs through December 31, 2023. And earning the bonus points is pretty easy!
Uber and Marriott originally launched their linking program back in 2021 and have since offered members different ways to earn points — but usually a pretty low sum. Here's how you can easily earn 1,000 bonus Marriott points.
Grab 1,000 Bonus Marriott Bonvoy Points
The old Starwood Preferred Guest program partnered with Uber before Marriott acquired Starwood Hotels in 2019. In 2021, Marriott partnered with Uber and offered members 1,000 bonus points when they linked their accounts and made a qualifying ride.
In 2022 and a couple of times in 2023, this promotion to link your Marriott Bonvoy and Uber accounts was sweetened to 3,000 bonus points with no ride requirement. This new promotion, however, offers Marriott Bonvoy members the chance to earn 1,000 points when linking their accounts together for the first time.
Note: Linking to either your Uber or Uber Eats account works, and you can't earn the bonus twice by linking each separately.
Terms and conditions
- No registration is needed.
- Must download and link your Marriott and Uber accounts by December 31, 2023.
- Only residents of the United States are eligible for this bonus.
- Bonus points will post to your Marriott Bonvoy account within 4–6 weeks of linking your accounts.
Based on recent AwardWallet user redemptions, the bonus Bonvoy points from this promotion are worth approximately $10.
How to Link Accounts
Linking your Marriott Bonvoy and Uber accounts is quite simple. Simply open the Uber app, go to settings, and scroll down to where it says Marriott Bonvoy under “Rewards.” Tap on that, tap “link account”, and sign in to your Marriott Bonvoy account with your membership number or email. Then, wait for a confirmation that your accounts are linked.
Once your accounts are linked, you will start earning points on qualifying Uber Eats orders and premium rides with Uber.
Earning Marriott Points Through Uber
You can earn Marriott Bonvoy points when using Uber, especially when it comes to Uber Eats orders delivered to a Marriott hotel. Here are the earning rates:
- 6 points per dollar spent on Uber Eats when delivering to any hotel within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. Orders are subject to a minimum charge of $40; both restaurant and grocery delivery orders qualify.
- 3 points per dollar spent on premium Uber rides (Uber XL, Uber Black, Uber SUV, or Uber Comfort).
- 2 points per dollar spent on all other Uber Eats orders of $40 or more (orders not delivered to a Marriott hotel).
Our Take
It's nice to see Marriott offering bonus points for activities many travelers use anyways — like ordering a ride or food through Uber and Uber Eats. This promotion is offering just 1,000 points for the first time you link your Marriott and Uber accounts, but every little bit counts. Recent AwardWallet user redemption data shows Marriott Bonvoy points are worth around 0.95¢ each — effectively earning you $10 worth of points for simply linking your accounts.
Several hotel and airline rewards programs have teamed up with different rideshare and food delivery apps, so make sure you're using the right one to maximize your points.

I went into my Uber account and was already linked with Marriott. I unlinked, figuring I could then relink to get the 3000 bonus points. The system will not allow me to link to Marriott now
Thanks for the data point. I was wondering if unlink/relink would work
That’s a good new to save more money in our travels. We are always using Marriot and Uber because they have a good price and hight quality services. With bonus points it’s better. Certanly we wil use it.
I went into my Uber app and my Marriott account was already there. I do not remember linking these account but maybe I did. I thought I might as well since I’ll be having a trip soon. It doesn’t hurt in case I need an Uber and then maybe I can get some bonus points.
I am on my uber app and setting don’t see the Marriott can someone walk me thru this
