If you want to head to Ireland this summer in style without breaking the bank, we've got just the deal for you. Business class seats on Aer Lingus to Dublin, Shannon, and beyond start at just 45,000 Alaska miles per way. That's a fraction of what many other programs charge for transatlantic premium cabin flights.
Even better, award availability is widespread across multiple U.S. gateways — even on newer routes from Cleveland, Denver, and Indianapolis. With flat-bed seats, priority check-in, lounge access, and Irish hospitality in the sky, this is a great way to cross the Atlantic without spending a fortune.
Don’t have Alaska miles? Don't worry. For now, Amex Membership Rewards points can still be transferred to Hawaiian Airlines, and from there to Alaska Mileage Plan — opening up this deal to anyone with a stash of Amex points. That workaround may not last forever, so it’s worth moving quickly.

Book Aer Lingus Business Class to Europe From Just 45k Alaska Miles
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan uses a distance-based award chart for partner-operated flights, including those operated by Aer Lingus. With these charts, business class itineraries between 1,501 and 3,500 miles cost just 45,000 miles, while flights between 3,501 and 5,000 miles cost 55,000 miles. Both are fantastic prices, though the lower band offers especially good value. That 45,000-mile band covers routes like Boston (BOS) to Dublin (DUB), New York (JFK) to Shannon (SNN), and others.
Taxes and fees are more than reasonable, too. Expect to pay about $19 one-way from the U.S. to Ireland, or around $75 for a round-trip award. Even better, award space is wide open, with up to four seats available on many routes throughout May, June, July, and August — right in the heart of peak travel season to Ireland.

How to Find and Book Cheap Aer Lingus Business Class Awards
Finding 45,000-mile Aer Lingus business class award availability is quick and easy. If you have a stash of Alaska Airlines miles, you can search on the Alaska website, even clicking “Flexible Dates” to see the calendar view.

Once you pull up the calendar and filter by business class on the left, you’ll see your options. Look for dates showing 45,000 to 55,000 miles with low taxes and fees. Just keep in mind that seeing the right mileage amount does not guarantee it is an Aer Lingus business class seat; it could be a different partner. Be sure to click through to confirm the details.

Note that you should be able to connect to mainland Europe at the same cost, although the Ireland to Europe flight will likely be in coach. If you wish, you can even add a Mileage Plan stopover in Ireland for a few days, then head on to, say, Paris for the same 45,000 miles — provided you stay in the same distance band.

Best Ways to Earn Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Miles
If you're short on the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles needed to book this deal, don’t worry. There are plenty of ways to grow your account to make a business-class redemption possible.
- Credit paid flights on Alaska or eligible partner airlines to your Mileage Plan account
- Use the Alaska Airlines shopping portal and dining rewards program
- Earn miles through a welcome bonus and spending on co-branded credit cards like the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® credit card or Alaska Airlines Visa® Business card
- Transfer points from Bilt Rewards at a 1:1 ratio, or from Amex Membership Rewards to Hawaiian Airlines, then to Alaska Mileage Plan (made possible by their recent merger)

- Earn unlimited 3 miles for every $1 spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases
- Earn unlimited 2 miles for every $1 spent on eligible gas, EV charging stations, cable, streaming services and local transit (including ride share) purchases
- Earn unlimited 1 mile for every $1 spent on all other eligible purchases

- Earn 3 miles for every $1 spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases
- Earn 2 miles for every $1 spent on eligible gas, EV charging station, shipping and local transit (including rideshare) purchases
- Earn 1 mile for every $1 spent on all other eligible purchases
Another quick way to top off your account is to buy Alaska miles. While we don’t usually recommend buying miles without a promotion, this could be one of the few cases where it makes sense. Even at full price, buying 45,000 Alaska miles costs around $1,300. Considering a one-way business class seat on this New York (JFK) to Dublin (DUB) route costs $3,403, this is quite the steal!

Bottom Line
If Ireland is on your radar this summer, whether you're headed to Dublin, the Cliffs of Moher, or planning to play some golf, this deal is for you. Earning or transferring miles to Alaska Airlines to book nonstop business class flights on Aer Lingus is a great way to kick off your trip.
