Should You Transfer Choice Points to Flying Blue?

Transferring hotel points to airline miles usually isn’t a great deal. The transfer rates are set in a way that you're almost certain to lose value. However, this promotion could be an exception.

Based on recent AwardWallet redemptions, Choice points yield around 0.6¢ each. That means 5,000 Choice points are worth about $30.

On the flip side, AwardWallet users average 2.16¢ per Flying Blue mile. That makes the 2,000 Flying Blue miles you’ll get from transferring 5,000 Choice points worth around $43. Based on these average redemption rates, you could actually get a 50% boost in value!

Put a different way: If you value Choice points at 0.6¢ each, you'd only need to get 1.5¢ per mile from a Flying Blue redemption for it to make sense transferring points during this transfer bonus. And many Flying Blue redemptions offer more value than that!

Our Take

If you’re looking to boost your Flying Blue balance and have some extra Choice Privileges points onhand, this 100% transfer bonus is worth considering. Just keep in mind that no matter how generous the terms are, it’s rarely a good idea to transfer points speculatively. But if you can make this bonus work for you, note that it ends on May 31, 2025.
