Clear has announced the addition of Clear Kiosks at Florida's Fort Lauderdale International airport. The Kiosks are in Terminal 2, and depending on your eligibility can be used every day from 04:00 am to 08:00 pm.
Clear at Fort Lauderdale
Depending on your eligibility, Clear Kiosks can accommodate travelers at the following times at Fort Lauderdale airport, FLL:
- For TSA PreCheck eligible travelers, lanes are open from 04:00 am to 06:00 pm daily
- For Standard Security Lane eligible travelers, lanes are open from 04:00 am to 08:00 pm daily
You can also complete your Clear enrollment at Fort Lauderdale airport. Enrollment is possible between 04:00 am and 08:00 pm.
How Does Clear Work?
Clear expedites the document check portion of clearing airport security. At an airport with a Clear station, you use your fingerprint and Iris Scan to confirm your identity and matching documents. Afterward, a Clear agent will take you to the front of either the general security lane or the TSA PreCheck lane.
Clear is by far the fastest way to clear security at an airport; once you have confirmed your identity at the Kiosk, you will be at the front of either security lane and the next person to go through. You don’t have to provide the TSA agent with your ID, just your boarding pass, and then you go through the security check normally.
Remember that several credit cards provide a statement credit for enrollment in trusted traveler programs, even though most of these tend to be restricted to TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. However, it is always worth checking if one of your cards offer a statement credit towards your Clear enrollment.
Don't forget Delta SkyMiles members get discounts when signing up with CLEAR — if you're a Diamond Medallion, it is free.

If you are a Clear member, this is welcome news, as it is available at over 35 locations nationwide. So if you are thinking of enrolling in Clear, check that it is available at the airports you use regularly.

At FLL it depends on which terminal you’re flying out of. I generally do not fly out of Terminal 2.
I think I will be looking into CLEAR. I do like not having to stand in really long lines in the early morning. I know it’s in my home airport.
If it’s faster than PreCheck often it could be worth it, especially if you have children. I think if kids are under 12yr then they can accompany you through? I believe I read that somewhere and now I cannot seem to find it on their website.
Do not often have the opportunity to use Clear (would be great if at ONT). However, when I do have the opportunity, it makes for a much quicker breeze through the airport. Especially good at LAX, when traffic has held you up.
I love pre-check. But unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to be at most of the airports I go to. Good information anyway.
Is it possible for non US citizens to access this?
Yes if you’re 18+ and you have a US Driver’s License, US Passport, US Passport Card, US-issued Permanent Resident Card, State Issued ID, or US Military ID.
Thanks Howie. Guess wouldn’t apply to me – I am an Australian citizen living in Australia but travel to multiple cities in the US at least 6-10 times a year so was trying to save time when travelling from city to city in the US!
I can’t figure why clear is at every airport in CA except San Diego and yet expanding to smaller Florida airports.
I’ll stick with precheck.
So is Clear better than TSA Pre?
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but based on my experience, as long as you’ve got an airport with it, YES.
Wow!
Something to consider when my TSA-Pre is up for renewal
I hope it comes to PHX soon!
I love seeing this program expand!
Interesting that it is until 6pm for precheck eligible travelers.
clear has come in handy when TSA is too full.
I’ll stick with my TSAPre. The CLEAR thing always looks kinda strange to me – being escorted down the line in front of everyone else like you’re special or a VIP. If you are into that, go ahead.
Agree, it’s crazy how many employees they have standing around to do that. Why can I use a Global Entry kiosk and just get a slip of paper that I take to CBP, but someone using a CLEAR kiosk needs to have their hand held to TSA?
