World of Hyatt has launched the “Hyatt Private Sale” — which is offering up to 25% off stays in April and May 2022. In some regions, you'll get food and beverage discounts or free breakfast added on. However, you only have one week to make your bookings.

Details on the 2022 Hyatt Private Sale
The Hyatt Private Sale is available for stays in April-May 2022. However, the booking period is only available for one week: you need to book by March 22, 2022. That means you need to book soon if you want to take advantage of this offer.
The promotion is running a bit differently, depending on your destination.
Hyatt Private Sale 2022 terms for all regions
- Eligible stays are April 1 to May 31, 2022
- The booking period is March 15-22, 2022
- Must use the Special Offer Code PRIVATE during booking to get the discounted rate
- Must be a World of Hyatt member
- Discount applies to room rate only and is applied against the Standard Rate
- Reservations subject to availability
- Must book at Hyatt.com, via the World of Hyatt app, via a Hyatt contact center, or via a travel agent using the PRIVATE rate code
- Rate not valid for groups, conventions, tour packages, or combining with other promotional offers
- Not valid on existing bookings
- Not valid at Hyatt Residence Club, Miraval, MGM, UrCove, Small Luxury Hotels of the World locations, or AMR Collection brands
- Blackout periods may apply related to special events
Americas-specific terms
- 25% off the Standard Rate
- Full prepayment is required at time of booking
- You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before arrival date
- Canceling within 72 hours of arrival date results in loss of full prepayment
Europe, Africa, Middle East & Southwest Asia terms
- 25% or more off the Standard Rate
- Minimum stay of 2 nights
- Full prepayment is required at the time of booking
- Free cancellation up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date
- Canceling within 72 hours of arrival will forfeit full prepayment
- Offer includes complimentary daily breakfast where available
- Breakfast is provided in the morning following each night of a stay, but breakfast hours are limited and perk is not valid for in-room dining
- Offer also includes 20% food and beverage discount, which may exclude specialty restaurants, room service, alcohol, or venues operated by third party vendors
- Discount does not apply to, unless specifically noted, service charges, mandatory resort fees, applicable taxes, or other incidental expenses
Asia-Pacific (excluding Mainland China) terms
- 25% or more off the Standard Rate
- One night non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking
- Free cancellation up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date
- Reservations canceled within 72 hours of arrival forfeit the remaining balance
- Offer includes 10% or more off food and beverage, that may exclude specialty restaurants, room service, alcohol, or venues operated by third party vendors
- Discount does not apply to, unless specifically noted, service charges, mandatory resort fees, applicable taxes, or other incidental expenses
Mainland China terms
- Subject to the recent epidemic prevention policy of mainland China, hotels in mainland China will not participate in this promotion
How to Book
Since the Hyatt Private Sale applies to stays in April-May 2022 and requires using a Special Offer Code, you need to use this code to see the discounted rates. Plus, you must be a World of Hyatt member to take advantage of this offer. If you aren't yet, make sure you sign up now.
To search for hotels with a Special Offer Code, you can do one of two things. First, you can simply go to the promotion landing page for the region where you want to travel and click on “book now”: Americas / Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Southwest Asia / Asia Pacific.
The second method is searching from the Hyatt home page like you normally would plus inserting the Special Offer Code. Here's how to do that.
First, you will click on the box that says “Special Rates”. In the drop-down menu, choose “Special Offer Code”. During the Hyatt Private Sale for 2022, the code is PRIVATE.
Test Bookings for Hyatt Private Sale 2022
To see whether this sale really offers 25% off, let's take it for a test drive.
First, remember that this only applies to certain brands. It's not applicable at these Hyatt brands: Hyatt Residence Club, Miraval, UrCove, Small Luxury Hotels of the World locations, or AMR Collection. However, there is a current promotion for stays at AMR Collection hotels.
Las Vegas Example
Additionally, the terms state that this promotion does not apply at MGM hotels, since these are not owned by Hyatt.
However, it does work at the applicable Hyatt brands in Vegas. This is the Hyatt Place Las Vegas.
What discount do you get? You get 25% off the Standard Rate, but most of us wouldn't be booking that rate. We would book the Member Rate. Thus, the real discount for us is 21.13%.
New York City Example
I searched for a 2-night stay April 13-15, 2022 in New York City. These are the real discounts I saw (compared against the member rate) on the first 5 hotels in the list:
- Hyatt Grand Central New York – 10% ($270 per night, instead of $300)

Hyatt Centric Midtown 5th Avenue New York – 15% ($217 per night, instead of $255)

Andaz 5th Avenue – 21% ($432 per night, instead of $547)

Hyatt Place New York/Midtown-South – 6.3% ($255 per night, instead of $272)

Hyatt Centric Times Square New York – 2.1% more expensive ($345 per night, against $338 advance purchase)
That last one surprised me. It drives home the point that you should always choose the best available rate for you. Member rates, advance purchase rates, and even the Hyatt Leverage rates may be better or worse. Check to see what your best option is.

Combining with Other Offers from Hyatt
There are multiple Hyatt promotions running right now. You could stack with some of these offers to get discounts and extra points:
- Hyatt Bonus Journeys 2022 – get 2,022 points after every 2 nights you stay, plus 1,000 bonus points for World of Hyatt credit card holders after stays in select U.S. cities.
- 500 bonus points after staying at new Hyatt hotels – this is a recurring promotion, with the list updated regularly.
- Hyatt Brand Explorer – earn a free night after staying at 5 different World of Hyatt brands, up to 3 free nights possible.
Thus, your ultimate stacking opportunity would be staying at a hotel in a city covered by the Hyatt Bonus Journeys 1,000 points offer, which is a new hotel, from a brand you haven't stayed at yet. If you find this, it's definitely the ultimate stacking opportunity.

Our Take
This is a quality promotion that should work for many people. If you have upcoming travel plans, booking this week during the Hyatt Private Sale could save you some money on stays in April-May 2022. However, make sure to check all of your rate options. Choose the best available rate, which might not be this one.
Lastly, remember that certain properties still have destination/resort fees, and those can eat into your discount. While you don't have to pay those on award stays, you do have to pay them on cash bookings–unless you're a Globalist, where these fees are waived.
