Delta Million Miler Benefits
While the different Medallion tiers feature their own set of benefits, once you hit a million miler status, you receive a complimentary lifetime Medallion status. Which medallion tier you receive depends on how many millions of miles you have flown. You receive Medallion tiers as follows:
- One million lifetime MQMs: Delta Silver Medallion.
- Two million lifetime MQMs: Delta Gold Medallion.
- Three million lifetime MQMs: Delta Gold Medallion.
- Four million lifetime MQMs: Delta Platinum Medallion.
- Five million lifetime MQMs: Delta Platinum Medallion.
- Six million plus lifetime MQMs: Delta Diamond Medallion.
Can You Reach Million Miler Status?
To earn Delta Million Miler status, you will need to earn 1,000,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) during your lifetime. While you definitely need to fly a lot to reach these, there are some shortcuts to making it easier.
Many of Delta's co-brand credit cards offer you annual MQM bonuses when you meet certain spending thresholds. Pairing the right cards with your travel and spending habits can get you closer to that Million Miler status than you might think.
Our Take
Everybody loves gifts, and it is great to see Delta rewarding its loyal customers. However, gifts are a great touch; they are no substitute for excellent award options. Even though Delta has regularly devalued its program, some excellent redemption options are still available. Hopefully, Delta will be feeling even more generous in the future, adding more features and options across the board.

Interesting as I have accumulated over 3 million miles lifetime and haven’t received a gift for a very long time. Of course I am retired now and don’t fly as I used to, but Delta doesn’t seem to want to recognize that fact. That’s OK and I understand as there are probably many more members with gigantic amount of miles. My Lifetime Gold is OK for me.
