Our Take

If you hold The World Of Hyatt Credit Card, this is worth registering for, even if you have no current plans during the promotion period. Registration takes a couple of seconds, and if a stay pops up, you will earn 10% of your redeemed points back. Alternatively, if your World of Hyatt points are about to expire, trigger a redemption to keep them alive for another 24 months, and earn 10% of your redeemed points back.

  • Love Park Hyatt Sydney! Thank you for the tip!

Hopefully this is a result of increased competition amongst the various hotel chains.

    • I mean, I’d love for that to happen, but do you think this promotion in and of itself will stir the pot? If so, what are your thoughts?

    • If I’m not mistaken, with the still-strong economy, disposable income is up, and hotel vacancy rate still remain very low. It’s not like the years immediately following the real estate bust when travel brands *really* had to compete for dwindling numbers of leisure travelers. That’s promotions were very generous for a number of years, and that’s also why promotional offers have been more and more lackluster in more recent years.

  • This is one of the great unpublished benefits of the Chase Hyatt card…

    • Not sure what you mean. This isn’t a benefit of the card. This is a short promotion that Hyatt is running for cardmembers — definitely would not consider this a benefit and more so, not an unpublished benefit.

      • Thanks — what I meant is that periodic offers like these are a nice (and, for me, unexpected) benefit that cardholders receive, which were definitely not advertised by Chase when I signed up for the card. You clarifiied, however, a point that I had missed: these aren’t advertised by Chase because the promo is offered by Hyatt and not Chase.

  • REgistered. Thanks.

  • Signed up! Thank you!

    good info, will register.

  • They should make this a permanent benefit of the card.

    • You would get -0- complaints from me. That said, with the new card they have made some significant improvements and frankly, I don’t think the card needs it for the value it provides.

  • sounds awesome but do not have the card. those AFs really get me each year and so I haven’t gotten it. I’m trying to plan a SYD trip but never seem to see the cost or points cost for the stay at the Hyatt in SYD. Is this one that you have to call in to book?

  • This is a decent promotion. I wonder if it is Chase or Hyatt who is covering the cost.

  • I swear Hyatt must know about the months when I don’t have any Hyatt stays planned.
Every year the points rebate promotion runs during the few months of the year where I don’t have any Hyatt stays.

  • Always nice to get points back. Wish the window was longer for use of it though. Nothing planned during that time.

  • This is another reason to consider getting the Hyatt Credit card. I definitely value getting 10 percent of my points back and there are a couple other programs and cards that do this. (Some of the AA cards come to mind) If this was a bonus all the time with the card, it might be the tipping point to convince me to get the card. Since it is a limited time offer, I’ll probably continue to save my card applications for Ultimate Rewards earning cards.

  • Long time coming. Signed up. Thanks

  • Good on all existing bookings?

    • As I interpret the terms, yes, however, the Aug 1 through Sept 30 language is ambiguous. Is it stay in that window, or book in that window, or both.

This promotion is valid only for Hyatt Credit Cardmembers and World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers who register for the promotion between 7/16/2018 and 8/31/2018. To qualify for this offer, account must be open at the time of fulfillment. Only points redeemed between 8/1/2018 and 9/30/2018 will be eligible for this promotion. If a redemption is connected to a stay, the entire stay must be completed by 9/30/2018. You will receive 10% Bonus Points back on the World of Hyatt points you redeem for award stays, points + cash, suite upgrades, dining and spa services during this period. Points redeemed for Avis car rental certificates or points transferred to airline partners are not eligible for this promotion.

  • Bertrand Say says:

This is similar to the IHG credit card that gives 10% points back also.

  • They seem to do this from time to time….once a year maybe?

  • charles j says:

Thanks for posting these offers. Even checking for coupons and offers before booking, it’s easy to miss things.

  • Cynthia Khawly says:

Can you book hotel stays in the future, past the dates of the promotion?

  • Time to book some Andaz stays for the rebate and the double credit
