Amtrak is yet another rewards program to earn points with, and now members have a promotion to earn double points through May 21, 2024. For those who take trains out of pleasure or obligation, here's how you can earn double rewards for the next few weeks.

Amtrak Double Points Promotion

Amtrak Guest Rewards is the simple name of Amtrak's loyalty program. After joining, members earn 2 points per dollar spent on train travel. Furthermore, members earn 25% bonus points with business class travel and 50% bonus points with Acela first class.

Amtrak 2X Points Promotion

Through May 21, 2024, members can register to earn double points on train rides. Note the offer states this is for double base points, so it's uncertain if the 25% or 50% bonus for business class and first class travel are doubled. Members can also use an Amtrak credit card, such as the Amtrak Guest Rewards® Mastercard® or Amtrak Guest Rewards® Preferred Mastercard®, to earn points on Amtrak purchases. With this promotion, you will earn 6 points per dollar spent with the Amtrak Guest Rewards Card (2 base points from the travel booking, 2 bonus points with this promotion, and 2 bonus points with the card) and 7 points per dollar with the Amtrak Guest Preferred Card (it offers 3x on Amtrak spending).

Our Take

We've seen a few offers from Amtrak recently, including buying Amtrak points with a 30% bonus and solid welcome bonuses on Amtrak credit cards. As such, Amtrak is quickly becoming a worthwhile program to join if you like traveling by train. I've personally had great experiences traveling with Amtrak.
