Flying Blue members might not know that they can earn miles on concerts and events. However, doing so is pretty easy. Members just need to purchase the tickets through the Flying Blue Ticketmaster website. Here's how you can earn extra miles on your next concert ticket purchase.
Earn Flying Blue Miles With Concerts and Events
There are many ways to airline miles beyond just flying. Members can accrue miles with credit card spending, shopping portals, cruises… the list goes on. Another way to earn miles is with experiences, concerts, and events. In the U.S., Delta and American Airlines both have portals to earn miles on Ticketmaster concerts and events. Flying Blue also offers members miles when booking concert and event tickets through Ticketmaster.
This is a very straightforward opportunity. Use the Flying Blue Ticketmaster booking page (located here) to purchase tickets for concerts and events, and earn 1 mile per €1 spent. Tickets purchased in currency other than euros will convert to euros and then earn at this same rate. Thus, members will earn slightly less than 1 mile per $1 spent and slightly more than 1 mile per £1. Miles are earned on the base ticket price, excluding taxes and fees imposed by Ticketmaster.
If the ticket price is $99, you'll pay around $113 with the Ticketmaster taxes and fees. You will earn about 93 Flying Blue miles on the purchase, taking into account the conversion from euros to dollars for the base ticket amount.
Any tickets purchased directly through Ticketmaster without going through the Flying Blue Ticketmaster booking page will not earn miles. Otherwise, all tickets purchased with this offer act as normal Ticketmaster tickets.

Our Take
There doesn't seem to be any limitation to concerts and events on the Flying Blue Ticketmaster booking page. If you have a Flying Blue account, why not earn miles on your concert and event tickets? You will also earn rewards depending on which card you use. The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card offers unlimited 2X miles on everyday spending (including concert tickets), while the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card gives 3% cash back on entertainment, including concert tickets. Additionally, some cards also have presale ticket benefits, such as Chase Experiences.
If you prefer, you could choose to earn Delta SkyMiles or American Airlines AAdvantage miles on concert tickets instead.
