World of Hyatt has announced a promotion that can earn you up to 60,000 bonus points for stays between September 1, and November 30, 2018. The promotion is tiered, and the number of bonus points you earn will depend on the number of nights you stay.
- You need to register to earn up to 60,000 bonus points
- The promotion is valid for stays from September 1, through November 30, 2018
- Qualifying nights are those paying an Eligible Rate or a free night award for at least one night of the stay
- Nights at Oasis homes and Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties are not eligible
The earning is tiered according to the following table:
The bonus is cumulative; if you stay 5 nights, you will be awarded 2,500 bonus points. Staying another 5 nights to reach a total of ten nights will award you another 5,000 bonus points for a total of 7,500 bonus points.
With these bonus thresholds, particularly after 10 nights, you will have to plan properly to maximize the promotion. Indeed, if you make an error and only stay 19 nights you will only be awarded the bonus for 10 nights. The 9 additional nights will not have earned you any bonus points. If your travel plans could end up like that, you are better off directing those 9 stays somewhere else where you can earn a better bonus, like the Hilton triple and double points promotion.
If you have some stays coming up during the promotion period, then this promotion could be lucrative. One thing to be aware of is maximizing the earning from this promotion would be very difficult. The promotion runs for a total of 13 weeks and 6 days. If you spend every weekend (Friday and Saturday night) at your local Hyatt, you would still only have 25 eligible nights and would only earn 17,500 bonus points. To get the best out of this promotion, you are better off planning some stays to hit a bonus threshold and then moving your stays somewhere more rewarding after that.
Regardless, registration is free, and whether or not you have any planned stays, sign up — just in case.
