If you've got a bunch of Hilton Honors points, the hotel giant is out with some news that might excite you. This morning, Hilton announced a strategic partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which will soon present a boatload of luxe opportunities to earn and redeem points for stays at some of the world's most unique hotels.
Here's everything you need to know about Hilton's new partnership with SLH.
Hilton Announces Partnership With Small Luxury Hotels of the World
If you're a Hilton loyalist unfamiliar with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, that's understandable. Since 2018, SLH has been in partnership with World of Hyatt, limiting visibility to the brand's portfolio of 560+ properties across 90 countries.
But SLH properties are spectacular, so Hilton's newly-announced partnership is nothing short of newsworthy. According to the press release, Hilton Honors members will soon be able to earn and redeem points for SLH stays.

Hilton hasn't released further details outlining how you'll earn points or how many you'll need to redeem for a stay. All that's now public knowledge is the functionality will come online in the coming months, and that booking through a Hilton channel is critical to earning points on stays. Simple enough.

What does this mean for World of Hyatt's partnership with SLH?
Unfortunately, the beginning of SLH's partnership with Hilton will spell the end of World of Hyatt's partnership with SLH. As confirmed by a Hyatt spokesperson, World of Hyatt and SLH will go their separate ways in the “near future.” Until then, you can still make SLH reservations as normal through Hyatt channels, and existing bookings will not be impacted.
In June 2023, Hyatt acquired Mr and Mrs Smith, a luxury travel agency platform that markets a collection of posh properties. Since the acquisition, Hyatt's tie-up with SLH has been on the clock, given the similarities between the two luxe brands.
Final Thoughts
Hilton and Small Luxury Hotels of the World have announced the beginning of a strategic partnership, which will unlock a wealth of fantastic opportunities for Hilton Honors members to earn and redeem points on SLH stays. But all that glitters isn't gold. The new partnership will likely spell the end of SLH's tie-up with World of Hyatt in what was otherwise a near-perfect partnership.
