Capital One has made big improvements to its loyalty program over the years. Currently, Capital One boasts 22 total transfer partners (18 airline and four hotel programs). Of these, points transfer to 18 programs at a 1:1 ratio. Although the list of Capital One transfer partners features few familiar U.S.-based airline programs, you can still redeem your Capital One miles for incredible value for flights and hotels — even for award flights on U.S. airlines.
Whether you're just getting started with the Capital One miles program or want to stretch your miles further, let's review the best Capital One miles transfer partner options.

How We Picked the Best Capital One Transfer Partners
To determine the best Capital One transfer partners, we considered four factors:
- Transfer ratios: Most Capital One transfer partners offer a 1:1 transfer ratio. However, five programs transfer at less favorable ratios — EVA Air Infinity MileageLands, Accor Live Limitless, Emirates Skywards, Japan Airlines JMB, and JetBlue TrueBlue. Additionally, there is one hotel program — Preferred Hotels — that transfers at a 1:2 ratio, doubling your points. Otherwise, all Capital One miles transfer at a 1:1 ratio. Knowing your transfer ratios is important when considering the value of each transfer partner. You'll need to transfer a minimum of 1,000 miles.
- Competitive pricing: A strong transfer ratio only goes so far if award flights or hotel nights are overpriced. We also considered how competitively each program prices awards compared to other loyalty programs.
- Diversity of usefulness: We considered whether a program offers attractive prices on multiple trip options. Nearly every loyalty program has a few standout sweet spots, but programs with broader long-term usefulness ranked higher.
- Variety of benefits: Are there multiple perks and benefits within the program? As with the previous point, you can find one perk or benefit to nearly every hotel and airline program, but having multiple positive aspects helped us decide which programs came out on top.

Air Canada Aeroplan
Air Canada's Aeroplan program may just be the most valuable Capital One transfer partner. As a member of Star Alliance, Aeroplan gives you access to valuable partner award flights with airlines like United, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, and more.
Unlike many of today's airlines, Air Canada still publishes award charts, which helps provide more predictable pricing. Further, it doesn't usually pass on carrier-imposed fees, which means you won't pay an arm and a leg in surcharges when booking award tickets.
Award charts
Air Canada uses hybrid zone-and-distance award charts. See all 10 award charts here (PDF link). Each chart corresponds to one of four regions, and all partner awards follow these charts.
Here's the chart for flights within North America:

Unfortunately, a handful of partners, including United, are now considered “select partners” in these charts and are subject to dynamic pricing. That said, I have used Air Canada to book United flights from LAX to EWR many times, and I've had no issues finding availability at a standard 15,000 rate, only slightly above the starting price of 12,500 listed above.
Taxes and fees
Air Canada does not pass on surcharges, so the taxes and fees on award flights are often much less than other programs. While award tickets booked through other programs can cost many hundreds of dollars in taxes and fees, tickets booked through Air Canada often cost under $100.

Stopover program
Air Canada has a generous stopover policy, costing just 5,000 miles. There are a few rules to keep in mind when booking a stopover through Aeroplan, including:
- Awards are priced per one-way flight
- Stopovers are only permitted for travel outside Canada and the United States
- Stopovers cannot exceed 45 days
- Aeroplan allows one stopover on a one-way award or up to two stopovers on a round-trip booking
This sweet spot lets you book an extended trip for just 5,000 miles more than a single-destination trip. For example, you could fly from Dublin (DUB) to Rome (FCO) for 12,500 miles.

Or you could add a five-day stopover in Frankfurt for just 5,000 more points.

Air France–KLM Flying Blue
Flying Blue, the combined Air France & KLM award program, is one of our favorite Capital One transfer partners.
Promo Rewards
Each month, the program offers Flying Blue Promo Rewards. These awards are 25% to 50% off typical pricing, available for one month, and typically include flights up to three months out. Specific routes are discounted and grouped into short, medium, and long-haul flights.

Flying Blue sweet spots
There are several valuable Flying Blue sweet spots, including on partner airlines like Delta. You can book a short-haul domestic U.S. flight for as low as 5,000 miles each way:

Alternatively, you can utilize partner Aeromexico to book flights to Mexico from 12,500 miles:

Or fly from Los Angeles to Mexico City for as few as 14,000 miles one way:

Other sweet spots come directly from Air France and KLM. Fly business class from the U.S. to Europe for just 60,000 miles each way. While the fees aren't cheap at ~$350, these fees can be lower than those of other carriers, where surcharges often exceed $500.

One thing worth mentioning: these 60,000-point flights can be harder to find, so we highly recommend using award search tools to help narrow down your search.
Flying Blue family account
In addition to promos and sweet spots, the program is also great for families. There are two important perks you need to know about:
- You can create a family account with two adults and up to six children. First, create a free loyalty account for each person. Then, you can transfer miles between family members, making it simple to track each person's account without having to log in separately.
- Award tickets for children ages 2–11 are 25% off when flying with an adult. This means that a family of four can fly from the U.S. to Europe for as little as 87,500 miles one way after you transfer Capital One miles into your account.
Take a look at this example of the child discount. All three of these options are for two adults and two children booked through Air France's website.
- The first flight is with Delta and costs 80,500 miles plus $184 in taxes.
- The second flight is part of Air France's Promo Rewards, which can be stacked with the child discount, making it just 64,624 miles, but the taxes are higher at $558.
- The third flight is priced at the standard rate of 25,000 points per adult and 18,750 points per child, with taxes also costing $558.

Having multiple options for points prices and taxes — and being able to stack discounts — is just one more reason to love Flying Blue.
Japan Airlines (JAL)
As of September 2025, Capital One miles can be transferred to JAL at a 2:1.5 ratio, making this popular program much more valuable. And yes, you're seeing that correctly — it's a sub-1:1 ratio. But we're still including it on our list of best transfer partners due to its sweet spot availability and flexible flight options.
Additionally, we've seen multiple transfer bonuses that make it a nearly 1:1 transfer ratio if you time it right.
Award calendar
One of the most notable reasons for inclusion on this list is that JAL opens its award calendar 360 days in advance, well ahead of many other programs that open 331 days out. This makes it easier to secure JAL's longed-for business-class seats, rather than waiting and hoping there are still seats available to book when partner airlines' calendars open a month later.
According to JAL's award chart, business-class seats start at 55,000 miles plus taxes and fees, which are typically under $200, from the U.S. to Japan.

However, those tickets can be hard to find. More often, you'll see tickets ranging from 70,000–100,000 miles, which is still a solid deal for these premium cabin experiences.
Stopover program
Adding to its value, JAL has one of the most generous stopover programs on the market. JAL calls it a multicity itinerary and allows you to book up to seven stops on round-trip tickets that include Oneworld alliance partners. It can be booked through your Mileage Bank account, under the Oneworld award tab, or through JAL's customer service phone number.
JAL runs a distance-based award chart, which means you can find some great deals. For example, a round-trip itinerary with partner airlines totaling 4,000 miles or less costs only 25,000 miles in economy. Let's say you live in Dallas and want to book a beachy adventure. You could book Dallas (DFW) to San Diego (SAN), then to Los Cabos (SJD), then back to Dallas. This totals approximately 3,100 miles traveled, making it just 25,000 JAL miles to book the entire trip. That's quite a steal.
Other things to know
There are some downsides and quirks to keep in mind as you search and book award flights through JAL.
- Your Mileage Bank account must be open for 60 days before you can book an award flight; however, that number goes down to seven if you're transferring miles from Capital One.
- The JAL website is a bit clunky and outdated, so we recommend practice searches to learn how it works before you're ready to actually book your flight.
- JAL award flights cannot be changed, but they can be canceled for a fee of 3,100 JPY, or roughly $20.
- Award flights must be booked at least 96 hours in advance online or 48 hours in advance by phone.
Wyndham Rewards
This list wouldn't be complete without talking about one of Capital One's hotel partners. Wyndham Rewards may not be known for the glitz and glamour of its luxury rivals, but it shouldn't be ignored. Wyndham has one of the largest hotel footprints of any hotel loyalty program. No matter where you go, you'll likely find a Wyndham property to rest your head.
One reason Wyndham Rewards is among the best Capital One transfer partners is that nightly redemption rates fall within three award categories on the award chart:
- 7,500 points
- 15,000 points
- 30,000 points
Below are examples of good Wyndham redemptions. However, it's not always worth redeeming points with Wyndham. When cash rates are low, using points is less attractive. As a general rule, you're looking for redemptions that save you more than 1 cent per point when transferring Capital One miles to Wyndham.
Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort
This all-inclusive resort is a steal when booked through Wyndham Rewards for 30,000 points per night, rather than the $500-plus cash rate. That's a redemption value of 1.70 cents per point, well above our recommended 1 cent per point.

Baymont by Wyndham Gatlinburg on the River
Off-season rates can be under $100. However, during peak travel times, such as leaf-peeping season, rates exceed $250. Instead, book for 15,000 points per night, a 1.53 cents per point redemption.

Wyndham isn't Capital One's only hotel partner. Back when JAL was added as a transfer partner, Capital One also added the Preferred Hotels I Prefer Hotel Rewards program. Points transfer at a 1:2 ratio, which seems great at face value. However, the Preferred Hotels program features mostly luxury properties, and award nights often run upwards of 75,000 points.
Even with the favorable transfer ratio, you're still looking at a lot of points per night. Furthermore, Preferred Hotels has a significantly smaller global footprint, so properties are harder to find. For these reasons, we still think Wyndham is Capital One's best hotel transfer partner.
Lastly, regarding hotels, you can transfer Capital One miles to Choice Privileges, but the 1:1 transfer ratio leaves something to be desired. That's because you'll find a better transfer ratio to Choice from both Citi (1:1.5) and Wells Fargo (1:2) — much better than what Capital One offers.

What makes Capital One's cards stand out is the ability to earn higher rates on those “other purchases” than what you'll find on most cards. For example, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card offers 2X miles on everyday spending, as well as 5X bonus miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked in the travel portal — a standard feature on Capital One's credit cards. It's also possible to earn miles with Capital One Offers.
