American Airlines has published the latest version of its reduced mileage award chart, allowing you to book discounted award tickets through to September 30, 2016. This offer is specifically targeted at holders of Citi & Barclaycard American Airlines co-branded credit cards. Different types of cards will give you a different level of discount.

What are reduced mileage awards?

American Airlines Reduced Mileage Awards are discounted award tickets to and from select cities for holders of AAdvantage Citi and Barclaycard co-branded credit cards.

Destinations change every month and, depending on which AAdvantage credit card you hold, you can receive up to a 7,500 mile discount on a round-trip ticket.

A minimum redemption of 1.4 cents per mile when looking to cash in American miles could be considered a reasonable baseline for cashing in your miles. With that, 7,500 miles would represent $105, or $52.50 for a one-way redemption (3,750 miles).
