Why Should You Get the IHG One Rewards Business Card?
The IHG One Rewards Business Card is an excellent hotel card for business owners, offering high-value perks like automatic elite status, an anniversary free night each year, and the fourth night free on award bookings.
Better yet, new applicants can earn up to 200,000 bonus points – 140,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening, plus 60,000 bonus points after spending a total of $9,000 in the first 6 months from account opening. This matches the best offer we've ever seen on this card.
With a massive bonus and an array of valuable benefits, now is a great time to add the IHG One Rewards Business Card to your wallet. Here's why.
Feature benefits of the IHG One Rewards Business Card
- Anniversary reward night certificate: One of the most valuable benefits of the IHG One Rewards Business Card is an IHG Anniversary Night. This one perk alone can easily justify the card's $99 annual fee each year. The free night award is worth up to 40,000 points, but you can add unlimited points from your IHG account to redeem at hotels above the 40,000-point level.
- Fourth night free: Get a free night when you book an award stays of four (or more) nights. When redeeming points for stays of four nights or more, your fourth night is free.
- 10,000 bonus points and $100 statement credit: Earn 10,000 bonus points and a $100 statement credit after spending $20,000 on the card each year.

IHG One Rewards Elite status
- IHG Platinum Elite status: Receive Platinum Elite status for as long as you retain the IHG One Rewards Business Card. This mid-tier hotel elite status provides perks like complimentary upgrades and late checkout when available, plus up to 16X points per dollar spent at most IHG brands. Paying the bill with your IHG One Rewards Business Card will provide another 10X — earning 26X points per dollar spent with IHG!
- Earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status: By spending $40,000 on qualifying purchases within a calendar year, you can move up to IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status through the end of the following calendar year.
Other travel perks
- $50 United credit each year: Receive up to $50 in United TravelBank credit each year after linking your card to United TravelBank.
- Global Entry/TSA PreCheck/NEXUS application credit: Cardholders receive a statement credit of up to $120 every four years to cover a TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or NEXUS application fee.
- Save 20% on points purchases: Buying points for an award redemption may be cheaper than paying cash for a hotel stay, and this discount increases those opportunities. However, the terms and conditions say that the 20% discount on points purchases can't be combined with other deals or discounts. In other words, you can't combine this with the regular points sales where IHG sells points for as little as 0.5¢ each. Still, this benefit can help you when you need to top off your account for high-end redemptions, and there isn't a points sale.
IHG One Rewards Business Card earning rates
It's easy to amass IHG One Rewards points with the IHG One Rewards Business Card. Earn up to 26 total points per $1 spent when you stay at an IHG hotel. Earn 5 points per $1 spent on purchases on travel, at gas stations, select advertising, and restaurants. Earn 3 points per $1 spent on all other purchases.

Best Ways To Redeem IHG One Rewards Points
Award nights with IHG One Rewards range from 10,000 points per night for entry-level hotels up to a whopping 250,000 points per night. However, most hotels fall well below the halfway mark, mostly under 70k points per night.
While most IHG redemptions return a consistent value of around 0.68¢ per point, we've compiled a list of our top IHG One Rewards luxury redemptions for top value. Alternatively, you might want to stretch your bonus points at these top redemptions averaging under 25k points per night.
Another unique feature of IHG One Rewards is using a mix of points and cash for hotel bookings. If you're short on points, you can add cash to your payment. Plus, there's a quick workaround that allows you to use points and cash bookings to pick up IHG points for as little as half a cent each!
Application Restrictions
Chase imposes multiple restrictions on credit card applications. The first is a published application rule that states you can’t get the IHG One Rewards Business Card if you currently have this card or have received a sign-up bonus on it in the previous 24 months:
“This new cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this business credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this business credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this business credit card within the last 24 months.”
The second (unpublished) rule is Chase’s 5/24 policy. If five or more new credit cards are showing on your credit report from the previous 24 months, you likely won’t be approved for this card.
Luckily, the bonus restrictions on the IHG One Rewards Business Card don't consider whether you've opened or closed a personal IHG credit card with Chase in the past.
And yes, this is a business credit card, so you need to run a business in order to qualify. However, you may be surprised what counts as a business; driving for a rideshare service, running an eBay store, and more all count as a business for the sake of getting a credit card.
Final Thoughts
The current offer of up to 200,000 bonus points is much better than this card's standard offer of 140,000 points. And it goes without saying that there are a lot of different ways you can redeem these points for great value. However, the two-tiered spending requirement for this offer is higher than many of the card's previous bonuses required.
That said, it's rare to see a bonus on a hotel credit card that puts so many hotel redemptions within reach. Plus, the IHG One Rewards Business Card‘s fourth-night free perk and annual free night make this card worth holding year after year. If this offer sounds like a fit for you, don't miss out.
