Given AwardWallet users have redeemed IHG points for an average of 0.69¢, new cardmembers can expect to get more than $1,000 in value from this sign-up bonus. The card charges a $99 annual fee, putting it right in the sweet spot for a mid-tier small business card.

IHG One Rewards Business Card Highlights

In addition to the 140,000 signup bonus, the IHG One Rewards Business Card comes loaded with high-value perks and benefits. Highlights include:

  • IHG elite status: Complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status. Or, earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status after spending $40,000 on qualifying purchases each calendar year.
  • Free night: Anniversary free-night certificate valid at any IHG property — up to a value of 40,000 points per night. Use your free-night certificate for a hotel night that costs more than 40,000 points by redeeming IHG points from your account to make up the difference.

If you take advantage of the IHG One Rewards Business Card benefits, you can easily achieve more value than the $99 annual fee each year. And that's not considering the standout welcome offer worth more than $1,000.

Who’s Eligible for the Bonus Offers on the IHG Credit Cards?

If you already hold one of the IHG personal credit cards, you can no longer apply for a different IHG personal card. This is a relatively new restriction on the “IHG family” of consumer cards which include: The IHG® Rewards Select Credit Card (no longer accepting applications), the IHG One Rewards Premier Card, and the IHG One Rewards Traveler Card.

To become eligible for a different IHG personal card, you'll need to close your current IHG card. You must also wait at least 24 months from receiving a new card member bonus.

However, these restrictions apply only to the three consumer IHG cards. If you hold one of the consumer cards, there is no restriction on applying for the IHG One Rewards Business Card — or visa versa.

Like all Chase cards, the IHG credit cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 policy. If you’ve opened five or more personal credit cards in the previous 24 months, you will not be approved for any of these cards.

Final Thoughts

IHG just sweetened the offers on its two currently-available consumer credit cards. In addition to a solid sign-up bonus worth up to $1,000 in value toward IHG stays, new cardholders can earn up to $100 in statement credits for IHG purchases made in the first 12 months after opening their account.

Beyond the sign-up bonus, perks like IHG One Rewards elite status, fourth night free, a discount on IHG point purchases, no foreign transaction fees — and an anniversary free night on the IHG One Rewards Premier Card — make both cards appealing for the long-term.

That package of perks makes these IHG credit cards well worth putting on your radar if any IHG properties look likely to feature in your award travel plans in the near future.

Will you be taking advantage of the increased offers on the IHG credit cards?
