Most will consider this offer far better than the 150,000-point bonus we saw back in 2021. Right now, you can earn a total of 140,000 points, plus an IHG Free Night valued at up to 40,000 points. That translates into a lot of IHG stays.

With IHG Rewards points worth an average of 0.73¢ each, this offer can still land you over $1,000 worth of points—plus a free night certificate! It's worth noting that Chase is increasing the annual fee on this card from $89 to $99 per year, and this fee is not waived for the first year.

Who’s Eligible for the Bonus Offers on the IHG Credit Cards?

If you already hold one of the IHG personal credit cards, you are no longer eligible to apply for a different IHG personal card. This is a new restriction on the “IHG family” of consumer cards which include: The IHG® Rewards Select Credit Card (no longer accepting applications), the IHG Rewards Premier Card, and the IHG Rewards Traveler Card.

To become eligible for a different IHG personal card, you'll need to close your current IHG card. You must also wait at least 24 months from the time you received a new-cardmember bonus.

However, these restrictions apply only to the three consumer IHG cards. There is no restriction on applying for the IHG Rewards Business Card card if you hold one of the consumer cards.

Like all Chase cards, the IHG credit cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 policy. If you’ve opened five or more personal credit cards in the previous 24 months, you will not be approved for any of these cards.

  • Looking over terms do not see and end date for current sign up offer.

    1) Did I miss it ?

    2) If not announced how is Chase about announcing changes to signup offers and end of offers.
I follow a number of travel blogs and they generally blog about offers that are closing trying to drive click revenue. I currently working on spending for a couple of signup offers and would like to wait.

    3) I have heard you as long as your under 5/24 and no applications in 30 days you can apply for a Chase Business and Personal same day. Told that some travel hacker will fill out a business application on one browser (such as Chrome) and a personal card application on another ( such as Edge) and then submit them within a couple of seconds. This may (or may not) result in both hard credit pulls being combined into one and does not help or hurt chance of either approval. Thoughts?

    • Ryan Smith says:

Jon – we don’t have an end date from Chase at this point. When it comes, we will make sure to provide updates. Chase is pretty good at notifying us, rather than just ending the offer in a surprise move.
As for point 3, that did work some in the past, but Chase has definitely tightened up on this over the past year. I don’t know anyone who got this to work this way recently; instead, I do know people who their applications got flagged as possible fraud and made things more complicated.

  • This *sounds* interesting. But… can the points be transferred to UR or any airline reward programs? I’m pretty much committed to Hilton and Marriott.

  • I thought biz cards didn’t count for 5/24. Well they do cause I just got declined for this card.

  • The $40K spend requirement to reach Diamond Elite and $60K requirement for a second free night certificate are similar to Amex’s Hilton Business card.
