IHG just launched a new promotion giving cardholders a 15% discount on Reward Night awards. However, you must be quick if you want to take advantage of it. Bookings must be completed by April 5, 2023. The promotion is valid for stays through May 12, 2023.
Note that this discount is only available for IHG cardholders at first — with Platinum Elite and Diamond Elite members starting April 3. This promotion delivers on new perks advertised in the IHG One Rewards relaunch — and is the third such discount we've seen in the last six months! However, this 15% discount is slightly lower than the 20% discount offered in January 2023.

For U.S. IHG co-branded cardholders, this discount is limited to stays of 3 nights or fewer. This is because these cards provide a 4th-night free benefit — which is better value than the promotion for a booking of 4 nights.
Is this a Good Deal?
If the promotion fists with your travel plans, there is some excellent value to be had. A stay at the Intercontinental Times Square in New York will set you back 31,450 points instead of 37,000 points.
Heading over the pond to London, stay at the Intercontinental Park Lane for 65,450 points per night. That is a substantial saving from the standard cost of 77,000 points per night.
Heading further afield, there is also some great value to be had in the Maldives. The Holiday Inn Resort Kaandoma Maldives sets you back 33,150 points per night from the standard 39,000 points.
Staying with a tropical destination theme, the Intercontinental Tahiti will set you back 49,300 points per night with the promotion. A substantial saving from the typical price of 58,000 points per night.
If you are looking for a sheer luxury experience, there are some huge savings at the Six Senses Laamu Maldives. This private island resort will set you back 202,300 points per night during this IHG flash sale. This is a huge saving on the standard 238,000 points awards cost.
Note that there are also some deals to be had with points & cash bookings — where the points portion seems to be discounted a little more than 15%…

Our Take
If you are looking to book an IHG One Rewards stay under 4 nights and are eligible, this promotion is a no-brainer. A 15% discount over a 1 to 3-night stay can end up saving you a ton of points.
On the other hand, if you are an IHG co-brand cardholder, you can get an even better percentage discount using your Fourth Reward Night Free perk for stays of 4+ nights. Using the fourth-night free works out as a 25% discount — which is a better value than the current IHG deal on offer.

I just booked a night using the anniversary flex night and it took the 15% off of the base points.
How will this work or will it work if I’m using a credit card free night in addition to points to book a night?
I don’t think it will stack up with the discount on redeeming points; nevertheless, using the benefit of the fourth-night free (while paying full via points) is still a better deal (which means a discount of 25%) than a discount of 15%.
