  • Does anyone know if the 30% bonus posts on the statement after you hit the $6k spend? Or does it only post after the promo period is over? I’m close to hitting the 125k points hits year, and the 30% should put me over the top.

    • Unfortunately, I wouldn’t count on the 30% bonus to help you this year. The T&C say that the bonus points will post 8 weeks after the end of the promotion – but they might end up posting before that.

Also, if you’re counting on Southwest card spending, make sure to triple-check your credit card statement closing date for December and make sure purchases post by then.

I’m definitely going to try and go for this deal. I am wanting to visit hawaii when the pandemic calms down, and this is a great way to get more miles to get there! I appreciate this post awardwallet!

  • As southwest and every other airline should do during the pandemic. Good to give customers so loyalty on the other side!

  • I think that all airlines anda cards operators should do similar promotions.
but for now, good for Southwest….

  • Nice to see that they are doing this promo again. This is hoping that the pandemic ends soon so we can take advantage of all the points being earned.

  • Similar extensions will keep coming in 2021. People will not travel en masse next year.

  • Are you sure on getting 100k points by 31 Dec using bonus as part? If bonus posts in 4+ weeks, wont early Dec post in Jan at earliest and not count for 2020 CP?

  • HELP! My targeted offer was 15k spend from 8/1 – 10/31 and as of next week when my statement closes I will have made it. The bonus points will get me to companion pass. The PROBLEM is that this morning when I signed into my Southwest account, the promo that I registered for is GONE, as is the supermarket spend. There is now a new promo for 25k spend between 10/1 – 12/31. I am extremely upset. Any ideas on who to contact? I had active promos that have disappeared and now 2 new ones.
    Any suggestions or help? Thanks.

    • Ugh, those promotions also disappeared for me. In your case, it’s worth giving Southwest a call about this situation. I’m guessing you (and I) are still registered, but it just dropped off the website.

  • Lance Wilkinson says:

Thanks for the Update! I’ll definitely sign up for this. I love southwest air.

  • Whoa they are being quite aggressive with these promotions.
I hope the other big 3 will follow with something similar.

  • Wow! I really wish I had this card. 🙁

  • dharmesh says:

Southwest isnt normally my go-to airline. I usually am stuck with American but I think I should start looking into southwest more as bags fly free and they have good destinations in USA

  • ilia khan says:

Darn I wasn’t targetted and I have 2 cards with them along with companion pass through next year. If anyone can figure out a way to get this added please let me know!

    • With all such targeted promotions it would be nice to know how broad or narrow the targeted group is. Perhaps AW could place a poll on such articles and folks could respond to get a sense of the offer.

  • Karthikeyan Chidambaram says:

unfortunately I didn’t qualify. I am working hard towards companion pass with 10k more points to go and this could have been a boost for me
