If you have an American Express card issued by directly by Amex you have access to one of the cards top, and often overlooked benefits: Amex Offers and Benefits. These offers can be found at the bottom of the home page of your online account for each American Express card.

The month of August if off to a great start when it comes to American Express' Amex Offers. Three new extremely valuable (all providing credits worth up to 20%) and possibly targeted travel-related offers were made public this morning, one from Ritz-Carlton, one from Delta and one from Sheraton.

Amex Offers August 2016

Ritz-Carlton Amex Offer

The Ritz-Carlton Amex Offer provides a $100 statement credit after spending at least $500 at Ritz-Carlton properties. This offer is only valid at properties located in the U.S. and in U.S. territories and expires on November 30, 2016.

Reservations must be booked directly with Ritz-Carlton to be eligible for the promotion. Offer does not apply to Ritz-Carlton Luxury Vacation Packages, Ritz-Carlton Residences, Ritz-Carlton Destination Club properties and timeshare purchases. Multiple Ritz-Carlton stays may be combined to earn the $100 statement credit.

Delta Amex Offer

The Delta Amex Offer provides a $200 statement credit if you spend a total of $1000 or more on purchases made directly with Delta by September 30, 2016. Per the terms and conditions of this offer, the following purchases are all eligible to earn the $200 credit:

…flight reservations made via, phone, or at ticket counters, (ii) upgrades, miles, seat selection, change fees, bag fees, (iii) Delta Sky Club membership or passes, (iv) pre-purchased or in-flight meal purchases, (v) in-flight alcoholic beverages, (vi) audio headsets, movies, shows and video games accessed via Delta’s seatback in-flight entertainment on Delta-operated flights, and (vii) Delta Vacation® packages (but not other all-inclusive packages).

Multiple Delta purchases may be combined to earn the $200 statement credit.

Sheraton Amex Offer

The Sheraton Amex Offer provides a $50 statement credit after spending at least $250 in a single purchase at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts by October 31, 2016. Reservation must be booked directly with Starwood to be eligible for the $50 statement credit. This offer is only valid at properties located in the U.S. and in U.S. territories.

Stays at other Starwood brands will not be eligible for the $50 credit. Unlike the Delta and Ritz-Carlton offers, you cannot combine multiple purchases to earn the $50 Sheraton statement credit.

Bottom Line

This year got off to a slow start compared to last year when it came to Amex Offers, but American Express has been more than making up for that lately.

If you are able to meet the terms for all three of the aforementioned Amex Offers, which is not at all out of the realm of possibility, you could earn $350 combined in statement credits with Amex. That is significantly more than the annual fee on most Amex cards. Make sure to add each offer as soon as possible and definitely before your Delta, Sheraton and/or Ritz-Carlton purchases.
