Is This Deal Worth It?

You have to crunch the numbers to work out if this deal is worth it. While there is some variance in the price of Chamber King rooms, they tend to be in the $300 to $400 per night range. That said, we looked at three stays of one, two, and three nights to see how they stack up.

We found a one-night stay in mid-April for $432. Paying 25,000 points would yield a value of 1.73¢ per point.

Chamber King 1 night

Two nights in mid-April will set you back $832. Paying 45,000 points for the stay would yield a value of 1.85¢ per point.

Chamber King 2 nights cost

Three nights in early May will set you back $1,305. Paying 67,500 points would yield a value of 1.93¢ per point.

Remember that you can also use your Virgin Red Points for awards with Virgin Atlantic. Arguably, that is where the true value of these points lies. On average, AwardWallet members have leveraged their Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for 3.65¢. That is substantially more than redeeming your points for hotel stays in Dallas.

Boosting Your Virgin Red Points Balance

You are in luck if you need to boost your Virgin Red points balance quickly. Not only are there some direct transfer partners like Capital One, but you also can transfer four of the other six major points currencies to Virgin Atlantic — including Chase Ultimate Rewards and Amex Membership Rewards. Then, you can transfer them onwards to Virgin Red.

Our Take

While tempting, this promotion is nowhere near the best use of your Virgin Red points. Arguably, in some cases, if you're heading to Dallas for an event, you may be better off using your points for the flights and booking the hotel with cash.

That being said, it is good to know this promo is here, even if you are planning on passing on it in most cases. But those looking to check out a boutique luxury property and wanting to use points to do so may be happy to jump on this Virgin Hotels promotion. And “jump” is the key word, because you need to book soon.
