Hyatt loyalists: There's some exciting news coming your way. Hyatt and Chase have just announced an expansion of their collaboration. In the press release, Hyatt cited some impressive statistics to back up this collaboration — World of Hyatt has grown at a rate of 30% annually since 2017, and the program has 40% more members per hotel than its closest competitor.

This unprecedented growth is likely in no small part thanks to the fan favorite The World of Hyatt Credit Card (Rates & Fees), which could be getting a sibling soon. Here's what you need to know about how Chase and Hyatt will grow their partnership in 2026.

Earn Explorist Status With Sapphire Reserve-Branded Cards

World of Hyatt has a loyal following. Not only does it publish an easy-to-understand award chart (one of the few remaining hotel chains to do so), but it also has some really nice hotels.

Starting mid-2026, if you are a Chase Sapphire Reserve® (Rates & Fees) or Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (Rates & Fees) cardholder, you'll be able to earn World of Hyatt Explorist status by meeting a minimum spending requirement:

  • Sapphire Reserve: $75,000 in a calendar year
  • Sapphire Reserve Business: $120,000 in a calendar year

Once you meet your spending requirement, you will keep your Explorist status through the end of the following calendar year. For those not familiar with Hyatt's odd elite status tier names, Explorist is the second of three World of Hyatt elite tiers, and comes with benefits like 20% bonus points, a room upgrade (excluding suites), and a 72-hour guaranteed availability.

Beyond World of Hyatt Explorist status, when you meet the same spending requirements, you'll earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite Status, Southwest Airlines A-list status, up to $500 credit for The Shops at Chase (depending on your card), and a $500 Southwest Airlines Chase Travel credit.

More Hyatt Properties Available Through The Edit

Hyatt is also planning to add more brands to The Edit by Chase Travel. As part of this expanded partnership, you'll be able to book brands like Alila and Park Hyatt through the platform.

If you aren't familiar, The Edit is a luxury hotel platform available exclusively for Sapphire Reserve cardmembers. When you book a stay, you receive benefits like a daily breakfast for two, a $100 property credit, room upgrade at check-in, early check-in/late check-out, and Wi-Fi. And don't forget that Sapphire Reserve cardholders can earn up to $250 per prepaid booking of two nights or more (up to $500 annually) through The Edit.

If Hyatt is adding brands to The Edit, you'll have more ways than ever to use your credit.

New Hyatt Card(s) Coming Soon

As of now, World of Hyatt loyalists only have two credit card options — one personal and one business. According to the press release, plans are underway to expand the card portfolio. What will this look like? We aren't sure yet, but it's likely going to be a premium credit card.

The World of Hyatt Card has an annual fee of just $95 and comes with benefits like a free night at a Category 1-4 property each year, automatic Discoverist status, and solid earnings on Hyatt purchases.

It would be nice to see a premium version for frequent Hyatt guests, giving benefits like Explorist or Globalist status, a free night award eligible for hotels in a higher category, or additional credits that are easy to utilize. However, only time will tell.

Final Thoughts

These updates are largely good news for Hyatt loyalists, especially if you are already a cardholder of the Sapphire Reserve and you can easily meet a $75,000 spending requirement to earn status. If not, the ability to book more Hyatt properties through The Edit is still great news. Once we have more information about the expanded Hyatt credit card portfolio, we will be sure to share it.
