Lufthansa is offering an easy 500 miles when you download their mobile App. Valid through September 30, 2017, you can quickly pick up some additional miles by doing the following:
- Download the Lufthansa Mobile App on your phone from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store
- Log into your Miles & More account with the App
- 500 bonus miles will automatically be deposited to your account
- NOTE: earning these miles does not extend the expiration date of your current miles
With no registration required, this is an easy way to pick up a few extra Lufthansa miles, which are generally difficult to earn, and you cannot purchase them.
Other Ways to Earn Lufthansa Miles
There are a couple of other ways you can get your hands on some Lufthansa miles. They are a transfer partner of Marriott Rewards, so you can transfer your Marriott points over at a ratio of 3:1. Remember that if you transfer 60,000 points, you will earn a 5,000-mile transfer bonus giving you a total of 25,000 miles. This is an excellent way to maximize the points earned from your Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express if you redeem miles with Lufthansa regularly.
The second way to maximize your Miles and More earning is by using the Lufthansa Miles & More World Elite MasterCard. The card currently has a 50,000-mile signup bonus after meeting the minimum spending requirement. The card earns 2X miles per dollar for spending with Lufthansa and affiliate airlines, and 1X mile per dollar for everything else.
One significant advantage of holding the card is the mileage expiration policy. Typically, Miles and More miles expire after 36 months, unless you have one of the following:
- Elite status with Miles and More
- Hold one of the Airlines’ co-branded credit cards
Card membership will extend your miles’ longevity indefinitely.
If you collect Lufthansa Miles and More miles, this promotion is a piece of cake; it will take no more than a couple of minutes to download, install, and log in using the mobile application, which is an excellent return for 500 miles.
