Overview of Lufthansa's Miles & More App
The Miles & More App is your usual loyalty program app. Lufthansa first launched its app in 2010 and, since at least 2017, has offered members bonus miles for downloading and using it. In 2023, the app was fully upgraded with a host of new benefits.
The app is fairly similar to other airline apps, allowing passengers to book flights, choose a personal dream reward, track their mileage balance and frequent flyer status, and accept challenges in MyChallenge to earn more miles. The app quiz also offers prizes from participating partners, such as hotel vouchers, newspaper subscriptions, and travel accessories from Worldshop.
Miles & More members can also have points credited retroactively for past flights, and use the app for their service card to receive elite status benefits. The Travel Calculator in the app allows members to quickly and easily find out how many miles and points they can earn with flights.

Miles & More members will earn 500 bonus miles for downloading the Miles & More App and logging in. No purchase is necessary for this promotion. You only need to download the app and log in to your account. Then, you'll automatically earn 500 bonus miles.
This offer is only open to members who have not previously downloaded the app. Lufthansa tracks who's already logged into the app in the past. So you can't uninstall and reinstall the app to get the bonus.
The promotion had had several expiration dates over the past several years. Yet now it's a permanent offer.
You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play. And after downloading the app, check your email to see if you receive any additional offers to earn miles through the app. The app states there are daily offers to earn miles and a personalized MyChallenge.
What are 500 Miles & More miles worth?
Based on recent AwardWallet user redemptions, Lufthansa miles have provided an average of 3.2¢ cents each (although just 1¢ for short-haul economy awards). If maximized, this bonus is essentially giving you $16 in miles just for downloading and logging into the app. Not a bad deal!
