Coinciding with the launch of Alaska Airlines’ revamped loyalty program, Atmos Rewards, a new premium credit card — the Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card— is now open for applications. And there's a lot to get excited about.

The card offers never-before-seen benefits, faster paths to elite status, companion certificates, and more. While it's most certainly a premium airline card, its annual fee is lower than many competitors and sets the stage to set a new standard for what members can expect to see from their airline.

Here’s what you need to know.

Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card Overview

The card’s slogan “Go Global, Travel Better and Experience More” reflects Alaska Airlines’ rebrand as a worldwide carrier, no longer defined solely by its West Coast roots and Seattle hub. The annual fee is $395, but don’t let that deter you. The benefits of the Atmos Summit card easily outweigh the cost, especially compared to many other premium credit cards.

Welcome bonus

Everybody loves a new credit card bonus. Here’s what the Atmos Summit card is offering: Earn 100,000 bonus points and a 25,000-point Global Companion Award after spending $6,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.

If you pre-registered your interest in late 2024 and applied through the link sent to your email, you can snag an extra 5,000 bonus points upon approval. Just double-check that your application page reflects the bonus to ensure you receive it.

Global Companion Certificate

When you redeem Atmos points for yourself and a companion, you’ll unlock serious savings with two types of Global Companion Certificates. And they're not limited to just Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flights. They’re also valid on all of Alaska’s Oneworld partners and unique global partners.

  • 25,000-point Companion Certificate: Earned with qualifying spend on new accounts and again each year when you renew your card. It takes 25,000 points off a companion’s award ticket.
  • 100,000-point Companion Certificate: Earned after $60,000 in spend within a cardmember year. This version is especially valuable for premium cabin redemptions.

To see how the 100,000-point Companion Certificate works, take a roundtrip business class award between Seattle and Tokyo-Narita, which can price as low as 120,000 points per person. You’d redeem 120,000 points for your own seat, and your companion’s ticket would cost just 20,000 points with the Global Companion Award. Taxes and fees still apply and must be paid with your card, but that’s not a big ask.

Free checked bags, priority boarding

You and up to six companions on the same reservation get a free checked bag on Alaska and Hawaiian-operated flights, along with early group boarding on Alaska when tickets are purchased with the card. With checked bags priced at $35 each, this perk can amount to meaningful savings quickly.

Earning rates

You’ll earn unlimited 3 points per dollar on eligible purchases with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, dining, and purchases made outside the United States, plus 1 point per dollar on everything else. If you also have an eligible Bank of America account, you’ll get a 10% rewards bonus on all points earned from card purchases via the Preferred Rewards program.

Unlike many cards that restrict dining or travel bonuses to U.S. merchants, this card gives you 3x points worldwide. That means every meal abroad and every international purchase earns the same rewards, with no foreign transaction fees to worry about.

Waived partner award booking fees

Alaska Airlines normally charges a $12.50 fee on partner award bookings, but Atmos Summit card holders can avoid that charge entirely.

For a little bit of extra clarity, this only waives the partner award booking fee, not the regular taxes and fees that come with award tickets. You will still need to pay those taxes and fees, which can be several hundred dollars on flights like British Airways business class, for example.

Alaska Lounge Passes

Lounges have become a major focus for airlines, giving travelers a much-needed escape from the chaos of the airport. Even a short visit before a flight can completely change your travel experience.

With the Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card, you’ll receive eight day passes each cardmember year to use at any Alaska Airlines lounge. Each pass covers an entire day, so if you’re flying from San Francisco to Seattle to Chicago, you can visit both the San Francisco and Seattle lounges while using only one pass.

If you already have a lounge membership, you can gift your passes to friends or family so they can enjoy the benefits, too.

Through 2026, cardholders also get access to a premium bar experience inside Alaska Lounges when showing the Atmos Summit card with elevated wines and signature cocktails available exclusively to cardholders.

Earn Atmos Rewards status points

Many premium credit cards now let you earn status through everyday spending, and the Atmos Summit card is no exception. For every $2 spent on purchases, you’ll earn 1 status point toward elite qualification.

The current qualification levels for 2025 are:

  • MVP = 20,000 miles
  • MVP Gold = 40,000 miles
  • MVP Gold 75k = 75,000 miles
  • MVP Gold 100k = 100,000 miles

These thresholds will stay in place through 2025. Beginning in 2026, elite tiers will officially transition to the new Atmos program levels and the requirements for the upper tiers will increase:

  • Atmos Silver = 20,000 points
  • Atmos Gold = 40,000 points
  • Atmos Platinum = 80,000 points
  • Atmos Titanium = 135,000 points

Each year on your cardmember anniversary, once you pay the annual fee, you’ll also receive 10,000 status points automatically. That means if you pay your renewal and spend $20,000 on the card, you’ll have Atmos Silver status without taking a single flight.

Travel delay credit

For the first time, an airline credit card is offering an instant voucher when your flight is delayed. If your same-day Alaska Airlines flight is delayed by more than two hours for any reason, or if it is canceled within 24 hours of departure, you’ll automatically receive a $50 voucher.

The voucher is valid for 48 hours and is linked to your Atmos Summit card. You can then use your card to spend it however you need, no questions asked.

Expanded redemption options

Another first in the airline space, Atmos Rewards members with the Atmos Summit card unlock a secret feature. Your Atmos Rewards points become a transferable currency, letting you move points into five major hotel loyalty programs. That means the points you earn can be redeemed not only for flights but also for hotel stays.

  • Marriott Bonvoy (1:1)
  • Preferred Hotels I Prefer (1:2) — one Atmos point equals two I Prefer points
  • Wyndham Rewards (1:1)
  • Shangri-La Circle (8:1) — eight Atmos points equal one Circle point
  • IHG One Rewards (1:1), available only through early November at launch

With this flexibility, your points can now be used for stays at more than 25,000 hotels worldwide in addition to flights to over 1,000 destinations with Alaska Airlines and its partners.

Share your points with others for free

If you're just a few hundred or even a few thousand points short of your dream flight, Atmos Summit card holders can set up a sharing network with up to 10 other Atmos Rewards members. These can be friends, family, or fellow cardholders. And you can move points back and forth between accounts with no fees.

Many airlines allow point transfers only with restrictions or added costs. With Atmos Rewards, Alaska has removed those barriers, making it simple and free to pool points.

Bottom Line

For a new credit card in the market full of other bank cards vying for your attention, this card's a win. It offers premium benefits without a terribly premium price tag. You'll get lounge access, travel delay credits, free checked bags, points sharing, attractive bonus categories and more.

And, let's not forget the companion certificates offering up to 125,000 points off of award redemptions. This Atmos Summit card is a strong addition to the Bank of America portfolio. It's all but a must for any true Alaska Airlines flyer.
