Air France/KLM Flying Blue just announced a new 15% transfer bonus now through October 1, 2023. Members transferring Accor Live Limitless points to Flying Blue will receive a 15% bonus, boosting the transfer rate to 2,300 Flying Blue miles per 2,000 Accor points transferred.

That's one of the best transfer rates we've seen from a hotel program to an airline mileage program. However, Accor points are some of the most valuable hotel points around. So, when does it make sense to transfer? Let's dig into what you need to know about this transfer bonus.

Accor ALL To Air France-KLM Points

Accor – Flying Blue Recently Improved Transfer Ratio

Historically you could convert Accor ALL points to Flying Blue miles at a ratio of 2:1 with a minimum transfer of 2,000 points = 1,000 miles. However, the partners have improved this transfer ratio to 1:1. However, in December 2022, the partners improved the transfer rate. Now you'll receive 2,000 Flying Blue miles for every 2,000 Accor points you convert.

For transfers of Flying Blue miles to Accor ALL points, the ratio has not changed from its 4:1 ratio with a minimum transfer of 4,000 miles. That means you will receive 1,000 Accor points for every 4,000 Flying Blue miles you convert.

Don't forget that you can double dip by linking your Accor and Flying Blue accounts — earning ALL Rewards points on Air France/KLM flights and Flying Blue miles on Accor stays.

Should You Transfer Accor Points to Flying Blue With a 15% Transfer Bonus?

Accor ALL points have a fixed value since you redeem them in blocks of 2,000 points for €40/~$43 off your next Accor stay. This gives the points a fixed value of 2 euro cents or 2.15 USD cents per point at current exchange rates.

On the other hand, AwardWallet members have leveraged Flying Blue miles for an average value of 2.37¢ per point. Members have been able to get an even better 2.72¢ per point on average for long-haul premium cabin travel. Therefore, converting points from Accor to Flying Blue can be a great choice for the right redemption — such as booking Flying Blue Promo Rewards or other Flying Blue sweet spots.

For example, until September 30, 2023, Flying Blue members can book award flights between Boston and Berlin for 11,625 Flying Blue miles each way.

Or, book business class awards to Europe for 41,250 Flying Blue miles. During this 15% transfer bonus, you'd need to transfer just 36,000 Accor points to take advantage of this deal.

Transferring points at a ratio of 1:1 is an excellent option, and the bonus adds even more value.

Although Accor to Flying Blue conversions can be a good deal, the same cannot be said for the other way. The initial 4:1 ratio kills the value of this transfer regardless of the level of transfer bonus on offer.

Our Take

This promotion is a great option if you want to consolidate a bunch of Accor points. The offer allows you to transfer your points and potentially leverage them for even better value

Keep in mind that the transfer bonus is slow (up to 6 weeks)! Therefore, if you are looking to transfer points that will hit your account quickly, you need to look at alternatives. Fortunately, Flying Blue partners with every major credit card point currency, and many transfers are instant. So, if you see an award that you want to book now and need to boost your balance, you are best off transferring points from one of the major flexible point currencies.
