You can effectively use AwardWallet to help you track all your points and miles in one place. In addition, you can use it to stay up to date with any other reward or loyalty programs in which you're a member. But did you know that you also can use AwardWallet to track things like free night awards, room upgrades, and more?
In this article, I'm going to show you everything you need to know about this lesser-known feature.
Getting Started With AwardWallet
First, you will need to create an AwardWallet account here to get started. After you create an AwardWallet account, you can add all your loyalty and credit card accounts.
To shortcut the setup process, link your email account to AwardWallet, and our systems will automatically search your email to suggest accounts you may want to link. You can find this list of discovered accounts here. Or click the plus sign next to your accounts list at the top of the main AwardWallet page to see a list of discovered accounts.
Then, click the “set up now” link next to the discovered account and enter your login information for each account.
And that's it! AwardWallet will automatically track any updates to points balances, credit card balances, elite status levels, and expiration dates on your behalf.
Track Free Night Certificates and More With AwardWallet
AwardWallet doesn't just track points. It also helps you track other loyalty and credit card account perks to make sure that you don't miss out on anything important. You wouldn't want those amazing card benefits to go to waste.
As you can see, the different benefits linked to your rewards accounts are listed under the program name and points balance. Many co-branded hotel credit cards come with a free night award or certificate. These free nights typically expire after one year, so you want to use them within that time. Additionally, some cards offer room upgrade certificates like suite night awards or club-level upgrades.
Many of these perks are automatically tracked under the respective loyalty accounts in your AwardWallet user portal, along with the expiration date of each perk. AwardWallet is constantly adding automatically-tracked perks — such as the recently added IHG One Rewards Milestone Rewards and Food & Beverage Credits:

Manually Adding Certificates to AwardWallet
What if your certificate doesn't show up under your loyalty account, or you want to track something that isn't linked to a program like a gift card? You can add these to your AwardWallet account manually. And this is the little-known feature to which we wanted to alert you.
Click here to manually track a certificate, voucher, or gift card in AwardWallet. Or, start by clicking on the plus sign next to accounts on the AwardWallet home page. Then, click on “Manually Track Travel Voucher or Gift Card.”
Provide the required information, such as name, the travel program (which will autofill once you start typing), and whether it's a standalone certificate or linked to an award program being tracked with AwardWallet. You'll also add the type of certificate or voucher you're tracking and the number for that certificate or voucher.
Lastly, you can enter some optional information. This includes a PIN, the value of the certificate or voucher, the currency, the expiration date, and any additional notes that you'd like to include.
Once you manually add your free night certificate, you will see it listed in your AwardWallet accounts area. If it's linked to a loyalty program, it will be listed under that program. Otherwise, it will be listed separately on the full account list.
When you click the plus sign next to the certificate, it will show all the information that you entered.
