British Airways releases several Avios-only flights every year. Unfortunately, there is no specific date or route when BA releases these awards, so you have to keep your eyes peeled. However, they can be a great option for maximizing your Avios use if you are lucky enough to snag a seat.

The latest batch was released this month and covers routes between London Heathrow, Malaga, and Marrakech. One thing to keep in mind is that these awards will be snapped up quickly, so you may want to book quickly. Here's how.

Avios-Only Flights from London to Malaga

The London to Malaga (AGP) round trip is scheduled for the following dates:

  • Outbound London to Malaga October 26, 2025, on BA422.
  • Inbound Malaga to London on November 2, 2025, on BA423.

If those options don't work for you, BA shares its Avios currency with Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, and Qatar Airways. What's more, you can transfer Avios between programs instantly and at no cost. You can check out our complete guide on how to move your Avios between programs.

Our Take

On the one hand, an award-only flight is great news as it means hundreds of available award seats. However, These seats are only useful if you want to travel to the particular destination on offer on the particular dates British Airways is offering these flights.

This time around, British Airways included two destinations to some appealing destinations. However, not all travelers can make the limited dates work with their travel schedule.

If you're considering booking one of these new awards, make sure to crunch the numbers based on your Avios balance and travel goals to ensure you get the biggest bang for your Avios.

AwardWallet Tip of The Day
Did you know that you can set an individual goal for each of your loyalty accounts? Progress towards that goal is displayed under your account balance. You can set goals in bulk or individually by selecting the account(s) and clicking Set Account Goals under the Actions menu.
