Hilton has announced the Double Up promotion, which will earn you double points for stays through the end of 2017. The promotion is an excellent replacement to the triple points promotion which expires at the end of August.

Hilton 2017 Double Up Promotion

Key Terms

  • Promotion valid for stays between September 1, and December 31, 2017
  • You must register for the promotion
  • You receive double points for every stay
  • Hilton Honors Diamond members receive an extra 10,000 points for every 10 nights stayed, up to a maximum of 50,000 points
  • Promo is valid at all Hilton Hotels worldwide, except Hampton by Hilton properties in China.

Our Take

The double points promotions from Hilton can be very lucrative since it is possible to stack them and earn scores of points. The last promotion has a maximum earning potential of 52 points per dollar spent, and this isn't far behind.

  • I wonder if there’s a coincidence between points being so firmly tied to a 0.5 cent value, and the fact that Honors now hand out double points practically all of the time…

  • the diamond bonus is a nice addition to the promotion

  • I did sign up for this promotion, I am not sure I will take advantage of it. I prefer the IHG “Accelerate promotions.

    • IHG do have good promotions, but Hilton have better hotels, or at least they do in the areas I normally visit. I also think Hilton offer more to their status members than IHG.

  • Double points is still a great offer especially if you stay a lot in Hilton.

  • Glad that they announced it before it takes effect as we have early September travel

  • IMO the diamond bonus this time is worse than what the Q3 promotion offered.

  • Personally, I like this promotion. As a Diamond it would behoove me to do a few mattress runs before the end of the year.

  • Got a two night stay coming up week after next. (Hopefully, my flight goes through Houston. Fingers crossed.)

  • This offer is ok, but I think it is not as good as the current offer of triple points for diamonds. It does all add up quite nicely though when you add on top 500 points for booking withe the app and 1000 points diamond bonus. together with anything else earned via the credit card you purchase with.

  • Better than nothing, but not good enough to sway my stays.

  • Not a super-exciting promo, but being Diamond from the status-match campaign last year makes it a little kore interesting.

  • not the best promo, but need to remember to sign up if you are staying Hilton anyway. always check the quarterly promos, they are usually better than this

  • Love that promotion, thanks as always!

  • Thanks for the post – I have triple checked my email settings and I never get Hilton promos sent to me despite being Diamond.

  • Richard Blundell says:

    Might reactivate my Hilton account.

  • Hilton comes along with their usual promo. Better than nothing.

  • First I heard of it and I’m a Diamond member. Thanks Award Wallet!

  • Have a 9 day Hampton Inn stay coming up and not convinced I can get anything good out of the points or the promotions. Thinking to convert to frequent flier points: am I missing something here? I am SPG Platinum and intend to stay that way (won’t be switching business to Hilton).

    • any chance you could use the Hilton points in the future? If its a small amount, just make sure your earning preference isn’t points + points, but instead points + miles

    • The exchange rate from Hilton points to airline miles is awful. You probably only get about 10% of the value. If however you are certain that you won’t be staying again with Hilton within the next year then you might as well convert rather than let them expire as 10% is better than 0%! I agree with Howie’s comment that you should make sure your earnings style is set to points and miles.

  • Hilton will not allow you to cancel your reservation and get your money back though. šŸ™

  • This promo has prompted me into looking at HNL Hiltons for a quick getaway.

  • Great promo. I believe I will have to stay at a few Hilton properties before end of 2017. There redemption amounts have become kind of nuts lately
