Lyft just added yet another rewards partnership. Alaska Airlines now joins Hilton and Delta as a partner of Lyft, letting you earn Mileage Plan miles on your Lyft rides. Even better, members will earn 2x miles until the end of the year. Here are the full details of this partnership.

Lyft and Alaska Partnership

Lyft and Alaska Partnership

Lyft just announced this partnership with Alaska Airlines. Mileage Plan members can now select Alaska as their rewards partner in the rewards tab of the Lyft app.

Until the end of 2022, you can earn 2x miles on Lyft rides. In 2023, that will change to just 1 mile per dollar spent. Note that miles are earned on the base fare — not including taxes, fees, and tips.

AwardWallet users have redeemed Mileage Plan miles at around 4.46 cents each. Comparatively, Delta SkyMiles have provided around 2.2 cents in value, and Hilton Honors points are around 0.6 cents each. Lyft gives 3x Hilton Honors points (on up to $10,000 in spending) or 1x Delta SkyMiles. Thus, with the 2x earning rate for 2022, Alaska is easily the best Lyft partnership.

Even without the 2X bonus, you're probably better off keeping Alaska as your preferred rewards partner — except for perhaps the occasional shift to Hilton to keep your points from expiring (every 24 months). Now we just have to hope that Alaska doesn't devaluate its miles.

Terms and Conditions

  • Miles aren't earned on taxes, fees, or tips.
  • Bike and scooter rentals are ineligible for earnings.
  • You will only earn miles on Lyft rides in the U.S. and Canada.

Other Ways to Earn Rewards with Lyft

If you have one, make sure to use your Chase card for Lyft spending. Depending on which card you have, you can earn either 5% cash back or 5X or 10X points.

Our Take

It's great to see Lyft adding more travel rewards partners for earning points and miles on rides. This Alaska partnership is good news, especially as it offers the most rewards, even more so through the remainder of 2022.
