Award Stays Are Eligible Bonus Points (with a caveat)
What makes this promo unique, is that according to a Hilton Honors Rep on Flyertalk, you can earn the bonus points for any stay, including award stays; you just need to make sure you charge something to the room. This could make your stays very lucrative, especially if you are staying at a less expensive property. Take for instance the Ramses Hilton, with a current award night price of 10,000 points.
5 one-night stays will set you back 50,000 points, but with the promo, you will earn 20,000 points (2,000 per stay + 10,000 bonus points), which amounts to a total of 30,000 points for 5 stays or 6,000 points per night, which is pretty sweet value.
Things get even better with a less expensive property, like the Hilton Garden Inn Rzeszow.
At 5,000 points per night, the 5 one-night stays will set you back 25,000 points, and earn you 20,000-points back. You are effectively getting 5 nights for 5,000 points or 1,000 points per night, which can’t be beaten. Again, just make sure you charge something to the room!
Additionally, the following brands do not earn points for incidental hotel spending, so award stays at any of these will not earn bonus points associated with the promotion. These include:
- Hampton Inn
- Home2 Suites
- Homewood Suites
- Tru by Hilton
If you want to earn bonus points with these properties, you'll need to stay on an eligible rate.
Our Take
It is not often you get a promo that at first glance seems relatively standard but with a little digging turns out to have the potential to be very lucrative. The only drawback is that you will have to spend some time sifting through various properties to find one that maximizes your value.

thanks for the heads up!
As with all programs, a pretty weak Q1 promo.
Yes, thanks for the heads up! Glad to see this promotion!
Garden inn is even better value if you have your my way benefit set to points per stay.
signed up! thanks!
good promo
just signed up!
Interesting that you can earn bonus points on award stays!
Guess there will be a few mattress runs in my future.
Thanks! Registered right away! All the best for 2018!
Another regristation done!
Now let’s see which one I complete successfully.
As most of my stays are one night at cheaper properties this is a very good promotion for me.
It’s live… and hugely underwhelming, especially if one tends to make fewer, but longer stays.
2k per stay is okay but 2k per night would be even better.
I like the example of a 5000 point a night Hilton Garden Inn being effectively 1000 points a night for 5 individual nights. It is even better if you are gold or diamond as you can get 750 points instead of breakfast making the effective cost only 250 points a night. If I lived near that hotel I would be doing a lot of mattress running!
Yes, an amazing deal; all of us travel hackers will now be flooding into the HGI Rzeszów, Poland over the next 3 months to make use of this one! 😉
