After a fantastic offering in October, this month’s Flying Blue Promo Rewards have a lot to live up to. While not quite as good as October, this month there are various participating destinations in the US, with Seattle benefiting from a discount of up to 50% on Economy class travel to Europe. This month’s rewards are for travel between January 1, 2019, and February 28, 2019. Bookings must be completed by November 30, 2018.

Options For North America

October’s Promo Rewards had two US destinations and 5 destinations in Canada. In November, there are no destinations in Canada, but 5 in the US to Europe and a bonus route to Africa:

  • Seattle – 50% discount
  • Chicago – 25% discount
  • Boston – 25% discount
  • Washington – 25% discount
  • Houston – 25% discount
  • Nairobi to New York – 25% discount

This month, Flying Blue has added a twist to its Promo Rewards and are offering a discount with partner airline and Flying Blue member Kenya Airways. You can book Nairobi, Kenya to New York with Kenya Airways, in both Economy and Business class. The route is discounted by 25% and a one-way fare will set you back 34,500 miles in Economy, or 86,500 miles in Business.

Other Global Destinations

It comes as no surprise that there are some excellent opportunities for travel from Europe to other worldwide destinations. The class of travel varies for each destination. The following destinations all benefit from a 50% discount this month:

  • Douala- Cameroon
  • Wuhan – China
  • Chengdu – China
  • Amman – Jordan
  • Beirut – Lebanon

Within Europe, there are various options, with some routes discounted by up to 40%.

How To Work Out The Cost Of Your Award

Flying Blue has developed an award calculator to indicate how many miles your ticket will cost. The calculator gives the standard pricing for the award, and then you will need to discount the figure by the percentage offered in the Flying Blue promo reward. For instance, Paris to Washington with Air France will typically set you back 27,500 miles one-way in Economy. With a discount of 50%, you would need 13,750 miles for a one-way award ticket in Economy.

Following from the changes made to Flying Blue Promo Rewards in June 2018, you cannot make connections and still benefit from the award, and you cannot use two promo reward destinations and benefit from cumulative pricing.

Key Points To Remember

  • Flights need to be booked by November 30, 2018
  • Bookings valid if made via or; phone bookings are not possible
  • Tickets cannot be canceled, changed, or refunded

Our Take

With 5 destinations from the US to Europe this month and the new route to Africa, we are pretty happy with November’s Flying Blue Promo Rewards.
