According to the Daily Getaways site, gift cards will be delivered by email within 10-14 days of purchase. When you buy a gift card directly from Marriott, they state that eGiftCard orders are delivered within 1-3 business days due to order verification. It doesn't make sense to us why it would take so much longer for Daily Getaways to deliver a digital gift card by email. This type of language is often in place to give legal cover in case of unexpected delays, but you probably shouldn't count on receiving these right away.
According to the terms and conditions, the gift cards may be used at the following Marriott brands, and at participating hotel outlets; retail, spa, golf and food and beverage:
- AC Hotels by Marriott®
- Aloft®
- Autograph Collection® Hotels
- Courtyard®
- Delta Hotels and Resorts®

Marriott gift cards cannot be used at the following Marriott brands:
- Bvlgari, Design Hotels™
- Protea Hotels by Marriott®
- Marriott Executive Apartments®
- The Ritz-Carlton Reserve® hotels
- The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club®
- The Ritz-Carlton® Partner hotels
Will this Work with Pre-Payed Bookings?
Marriott offers better pricing when you prepay for non-refundable accommodation. According to the Marriott T&Cs
“The eGiftCard must be presented at time of checkout or conclusion of services as tender.”
It is unclear whether you'll be able to apply these gift cards to a prepaid booking. Will Marriott refund you, and take the gift card as payment when you check out? We have not been able to answer the question, despite reaching out to Marriott. If you have experience using gift cards for prepaid accommodation, please let us know in the comments below.
Our Take
If you stay at participating Marriott hotels, then this promotion is an easy win. As long as you don't mind tying up cash to purchase the eGiftCard in advance, you can secure a 20% discount on your next stay. But remember: selling gift cards (even at a discount) is a good deal for brands because some people never redeem them. Don't become a breakage statistic! If you decide to purchase, don't forget that you can track your gift cards right in AwardWallet. With just over 1,500 gift cards for sale, this deal will probably sell out in minutes, so be ready a few minutes before 1 p.m.

Nice Program
Wow, that was short.
Missed it – but 20% wasn’t good enough anyway 🙁
I wonder what calculations led them to come up with the 1500 figure.
Oops! Missed this one!
Didn’t last long enough!
It makes good business sense due to the fact that some people never redeem gift cards.
Missed out but this is an exceptional deal. Like money in the bank
Missed it by hours…
I got three $100 certs; I’ve used them before w/o any issues. Great deal.
I’ve used them without issue before too.
Couldn’t make it on time to snag this.
I’ve heard a lot of bad news with Marriot…I don’t know if I would put any eggs in this basket….
Even though many people have experienced issues related to the merger; they’ve been “bonvoyed”, as the term has come to be known, I do know members that have still stayed loyal, and continue to enjoy the integrated program. As with everything in life, YMMV.
Sounds good, but I really wish the Mariott company would stop their incessant robo-calls.
Didn’t know I could track the gift cards in Award Wallet. Thanks for the info.!
Nor did I, and I thought I was on top of things! Is that even, ever possible?! LOL
Same here. Great to know.
anyone get a random gift card from marriott yesterday? I didnt but heard reports about a ton of people getting $25 or $50 via email
I did.
Well that was fast. Congrats to everyone who managed to make a purchase.
Uven more so when they allow each person to purchase multiple cards.
It would be a better promotion if they just offered points instead of gift cards.
We should have it both ways 🙂
I am on this now! Great idea and the first I have heard about it.
