While this month's promotion has ended, Flying Blue continues the promotion each month.
This month’s Flying Blue Promo Awards are up and running. Every month the promotion gives discounts of up to 50% on award bookings with Flying Blue. The bookings must be made between October 1-31, 2017. Travel dates for most routes in this month’s promotion are between December 1, 2017, and January 31, 2018, which is excellent news since it covers the holidays. So it is well worth checking out October’s promo if you are planning to get away this holiday season.
Options For North America
There are some excellent options for travel between Europe and Canada which is the big winner this month. All the options are in Business class and are discounted by 25%. Flights will set you back 46,875 miles one way or 93,750 miles round trip.
Options for flights to the US are more limited with the only option being from Paris/Orly to New York/JFK. Again, flights are available in Business Class and will also set you back 46,875 miles one way or 93,750 miles round trip. Travel to the US is more limited in terms of dates, with travel dates between December 1-31, 2017 only. So, if you plan to spend Christmas abroad, you will have to head home before the New Year.
Other Global Destinations
Not surprisingly with the travel period covering the holiday period, awards to global destinations are not the most generous. The majority of destinations are only being discounted by 25%. There are some deep discounts of 50% available between Europe and Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. The following destinations are discounted by 50%:
- Europe to Brazzaville/Republic of the Congo
- Europe to Libreville/Gabon
- Europe to Ho Chi Minh/Vietnam
- Europe to Cayenne/French Guiana

The Flying Blue Promo Awards can be a little hit and miss sometimes. This month they are a hit if you reside in Canada, but not so much if you live in the US unless you live on the east coast and in New York in particular. Either way, there are always some good options, so it is still worth checking out the promo.
