If you’re looking for an ultra-affordable way to cross the pond using points, we've got the deal for you. Ever since Virgin Atlantic Flying Club introduced dynamic award pricing, we’ve seen some incredibly low redemption rates on flights from the U.S. to London and Manchester — as low as 6,000 points one-way in economy or 29,000 points in business from the East Coast, with reasonable taxes and fees.

And it gets even better. Right now, there’s a 25% transfer bonus from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. That means you can book a one-way flight to London for as little as 5,000 Chase points in economy or 24,000 in business class.

Here’s everything you need to know to take advantage of this deal.

Fly Virgin Atlantic to the U.K. From 5k Chase Points or 24k in Business

The Virgin Atlantic Flying Club program offers excellent award rates to Europe. If you can find saver space, you can book one-way flights between the U.S. and the U.K. starting at just 6,000 Virgin points in economy or 29,000 points in Upper Class — Virgin’s version of business class.

With the ongoing Chase transfer bonus, those starting rates from the East Coast (New York, Washington D.C., Boston, and more) to the U.K. (London and Manchester) drop to just 5k Chase points in economy or 24k points in business class. And the taxes and fees are pretty reasonable, too.

If you’re flying from the West Coast — think Seattle, Los Angeles, or San Francisco — award rates are a bit higher. Economy starts at 9,000 Virgin points, and business class starts at 41,000 points. With the Chase bonus, that drops to just 8k Chase points in economy or 33k in business class.

Just keep in mind that flying from the U.K. to the U.S. usually comes with higher taxes and fees, thanks to the U.K.'s Air Passenger Duty.

How to find Virgin Atlantic award availability

There are two main ways to find Virgin Atlantic award availability. First, you can use Virgin Atlantic’s award seat checker, which flags saver space on the route of your choosing. Second, you can use Seats.aero to scan availability and pricing up to 60 days out — or up to a year ahead if you’ve got a Pro subscription. You’ll also get access to real-time award space.

Both tools can help you track down economy awards starting at 6,000 points or business class seats from 29,000 points. Once you’ve confirmed award space with Virgin Atlantic, that’s when you’ll want to go ahead and transfer your Chase points — and in most cases, these transfers process instantly.
