The Chase Sapphire Reserve® (Rates & Fees) has long been a go-to premium credit card for frequent travelers. After a round of updates in 2025, the list of Chase Sapphire Reserve hotel benefits is even longer. Even with a large $795 annual fee, those who can take full advantage of the card’s travel and hotel benefits may still find plenty of value.
The Sapphire Reserve comes packed with all sorts of benefits — including free Apple Music/TV, a $300 dining credit, and a $300 StubHub credit. But in this article, let's dive into all the hotel-specific perks you get with the card. Some may be familiar, but a few might surprise you.
Get Elite Perks and Benefits by Booking Stays Through The Edit
Chase launched The Edit by Chase Travel in early 2024 as a collection of luxury hotels and resorts offering premium lodging experiences and exclusive perks to eligible cardholders.
Cardholder benefits can include daily breakfast for two, early check-in and late check-out when available, room upgrades at check-in if available, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a $100 property credit for dining, spa services, or other on-site activities. Many of these extra perks are typically reserved for elite status members with major hotel chains. However, many boutique properties in The Edit aren't part of major

You can book these hotels using Ultimate
This is a great way for cardholders to take advantage of benefits that often come only with hotel status, and it now rivals other luxury hotel programs, such as

Take advantage of the $500 annual The Edit credit
Sapphire Reserve cardholders receive up to $500 in credits each calendar year for prepaid stays booked through The Edit. This comes as two $250 statement credits on prepaid stays of two or more nights.
When this credit first launched, it was biannual, with one available from January to June and the other from July to December. As of January 1st, 2026, both credits are available year-round and can even be used back-to-back. This means you could book two separate two-night stays in a row (four nights total) and it will trigger both credits.
This benefit lets cardholders take advantage of The Edit’s perks and goes a long way toward offsetting the card’s annual fee, especially for travelers who already book luxury or boutique properties.
Double-dip on The Edit reservations
And there's more great news. Select properties that participate in The Edit also allow you to earn hotel-specific loyalty rewards. This means whether you booked your stay at a cash rate or used Ultimate Rewards to pay, you'd earn points and elite night credit with whatever program the property participates in.
For example, if you book at a hotel that's also part of

Eligible hotel program bookings also extend elite perks to these reservations. So you may be able to enjoy an even more enhanced stay by stacking elite perks with The Edit perks, like property credits. Just be sure to add your hotel loyalty number to your reservation to receive these benefits.
Additional Sapphire Reserve Hotel Credits
Apart from The Edit credits, Sapphire Reserve cardholders can access a few other statement credits that can help make hotel stays cheaper.
2026 select hotel credit
During its 2025 refresh, Chase added an additional hotel credit available only in 2026. Sapphire Reserve cardholders can get up to $250 back on prepaid hotel bookings of two nights or more booked through Chase Travel℠ at IHG, Montage, Pendry, Omni, Virgin, Minor, and Pan Pacific properties. We're really hoping this will be extended into 2027, but only time will tell.
Recently, I used this credit and my The Edit credit to book a two-night stay in San Diego. The trick is to find a hotel listed under The Edit that is owned by one of the select hotel brands above. I have found this map helpful for narrowing it down because it has a toggle on the left to filter for properties eligible for both. For our stay, I was able to stack both the $250 The Edit credit and the $250 select hotel credit to receive $500 off our two-night booking. Furthermore, I received

Stack your $300 travel credit
On top of those credits, Sapphire Reserve cardholders also receive an annual travel credit of up to $300 toward any travel purchases. This includes hotel bookings made with the card, so you can potentially stack all three credits to receive up to $800 off one two-night stay.
Chase's Sapphire Reserve travel credit is one of the most flexible among luxury cards. It automatically applies to the first $300 in travel purchases made on the card during the cardmember year.
Compare that to the $300 travel credit on the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, which only applies as a discount at checkout through Capital One Travel. Likewise, the American Express Platinum Card® offers $600 in annual hotel credits (up to $300 in statement credits semi-annually), but only for specific bookings made through American Express Travel®, some of which require a two-night minimum stay.
We're focusing on hotels today, but the Sapphire Reserve‘s travel credit also covers many other types of travel. Chase defines travel as any of the following:
- Airlines
- Hotels and motels
- Timeshares
- Car rental agencies
- Cruise lines
- Travel agencies
- Discount travel sites
- Campgrounds
- Operators of passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, toll bridges, and highways
- Parking lots and garages
Visa Infinite Hotel Benefits
The Sapphire Reserve is a Visa Infinite card, which means it comes with benefits such as a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck statement credit, rental car discounts and perks, car rental collision damage waiver insurance, trip cancellation or interruption reimbursement, and more. While these may be some of the more popular Visa Infinite benefits, you can also enjoy hotel perks.
Luxury benefits at Relais & Châteaux Properties
The list of Visa Infinite perks also includes complimentary breakfast and personalized VIP welcome benefits at Relais & Châteaux properties. What are those? A collection of over 140 luxury properties around the world that pride themselves on attention to detail and authentic regional experiences through food.

Access to the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection
Through Visa Infinite, Sapphire Reserve cardholders also have access to the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection. This collection includes more than 900 luxury hotels worldwide where Visa Infinite cardholders, including those with a Sapphire Reserve card in their wallets, can get extra benefits.
Those benefits include a room upgrade at check-in when available, free WiFi, complimentary continental breakfast, 3 pm late check-out upon request if available, and a $25 food and beverage credit. This perk even offers a best rate guarantee when booking publicly available rates.
Earn, Redeem, and Transfer Your Ultimate Rewards
Earn Ultimate Rewards on hotels booked through Chase Travel
You can earn extra points when paying cash for hotels through the Chase Travel portal. Sapphire Reserve cardholders earn 8X points on hotels paid for through Chase Travel℠, versus 4X points earned when booking directly with the hotel.
This earning rate kicks in after any hotel credits are applied to your account after booking. For example, if you book a $1,000 hotel stay through Chase Travel and stack the three credits — $250 The Edit, $250 select hotel, and $300 travel credit — you will only receive 8X on the $200 that you paid beyond the credits.
Keep in mind, though, that reservations made through Chase Travel are considered third-party bookings. Most major hotel chains will not honor elite status or extend any status benefits for reservations made through a third party, unless you book through The Edit and the booking says it qualifies for hotel program benefits.

Redeem Ultimate Rewards Through Chase Travel
The 2025 overhaul to the Sapphire Reserve also brought significant changes when using points to book hotels through Chase Travel, thanks to the launch of the new Points Boost program.
Instead of a fixed redemption value of 1.5 cents per point per the previous terms, hotel redemptions now vary by property and timing. Select hotel bookings offer up to 2 cents per point through Points Boost offers, while non-boosted bookings redeem at a flat 1 cent per point.
If you were a Sapphire Reserve cardholder before June 23rd, 2025, any points earned on your card before October 26th, 2025, are automatically valued at whichever rate is higher — Points Boost or the legacy 1.5¢ redemption rate. Points that were earned after October 26th, 2025, automatically qualify for the Points Boost program.
However, starting October 26th, 2027, all points used for Chase Travel purchases that don't qualify for Points Boost will redeem at 1¢ per point, even if you earned them before October 26th, 2025.
Transfer Ultimate Rewards Points to Hotel Partners

Also keep an eye out for transfer bonuses from Chase to some of these programs. Transfer partners and bonus amounts change throughout the year, but they're a phenomenal chance to squeeze more juice out of the same oranges. These transfer bonuses are a great time to use the transfer partners available with your Sapphire Reserve to earn extra points for free.

Elite status can make a big difference in your hotel experience, from complimentary upgrades and late checkout to earning more points on paid stays. With the Sapphire Reserve, you can unlock these kinds of perks automatically.
Cardholders can register for complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status through December 31st, 2027. Platinum Elite is a mid-tier status level that includes room upgrades, a welcome amenity, extended checkout when available, and bonus earnings on paid stays. Additionally, if you spend $75,000 on your card in a calendar year, you’ll unlock IHG Diamond Elite status, which adds free breakfast and greater upgrade priority.
Cardholders can also periodically claim three months of Marriott Bonvoy® Gold Elite Status — with the ability to extend — just by registering for this lucrative promotion when it comes around.
