Hilton's Day Use rate, as the name suggests, allows customers to book a Hilton hotel room just for the day.
This can make sense for a variety of travel scenarios — from arriving early to your destination well before your usual check-in time to a late departing flight. Or, maybe you just want to explore a new area without the hassle of carrying luggage and important documents around.

Booking a Hilton Day Use Rate
While other hotel brands require you to enter a booking code for a day room, Hilton Day Use room bookings requires nothing of the sort. Plus, you don't even need to be logged in to your Hilton Honors account to search for this rate.
First, select your hotel destination. Then, enter the same check-in and check-out date:
Scroll down to a property that has a Day Use rate listed. Here, we'll use Hilton Tokyo Bay as an example:
You'll see the property lists day rooms as available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. — that's when you'll be able to check in and check out. This rate also includes fitness center and indoor pool access.
Hours vary by property. For example, the Day Use rate at Spark by Hilton Woburn Boston runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

Day Use Benefits
Booking a Hilton Day Use rate means you'll still earn Hilton Honors points just as you would for a traditional overnight stay.

Anecdotally, I have gotten suite upgrades and welcome gifts while booking the Day Use rate as well. Although temporary in nature, these benefits are a nice welcome, especially after a long flight.
Bottom Line
Depending on your travel plans, Hilton's Day Use rate can make a lot of sense for those who need a room that doesn't align with typical check-in and checkout times.
With the ability to earn Hilton elite night credits and points, it incentivizes leaving the confines of an airport and exploring a cityscape or suburb. Or, maybe you just need a nap. That's OK, too!
