  • Earn 5% cashback on the first $1,500 of spend, earn 1% after that
  • Promotion is valid at gas stations, drug stores, and on tolls

How To Activate 5% Cashback

To activate your 5% cashback, all you need to do is head over to the Chase Activation page and enter your last name, zip code, and the last four digits of your Freedom Card, and you are done.

Our Take

Gas is always a big winner when it is a 5% category and adding tolls is a bonus — be sure to update your EZPass and other associated prepaid toll mechanisms and consider front-loading your account to get that 5% earn. Drugstores are a great place to stock up on personal items, snacks and of course the obvious, medication.

Be sure to double-dip on drugstores using the big chain rewards programs and rebate programs — hopefully, you don't have to deal with any receipts that are 3 feet long!

Just remember, after you hit that $1,500 spend in the quarter, you're back to 1%.

AwardWallet Tip of The Day
Did you know that accounts which have been changed in the last 24 hours have an indicator (to the left of the account) showing that an update has occurred? This way you can easily spot any accounts that have been recently updated.
