New Uber Benefits for Capital One Cardholders

10% back on Uber and Uber Eats purchases

Starting November 15, 2022, Capital One Savor-branded and Quicksilver Student cardholders will earn 10% cashback on all Uber and Uber Eats purchases. This new earning rate is automatic and unlimited through November 14, 2024. No enrollment or registration is required.

The Capital One cards eligible for this new earning rate include:

Complimentary Uber One membership

Capital One and Uber are also partnering to offer select cardholders complimentary Uber One membership. Cardholders of the following types of Capital One cards get Uber One for free through November 14, 2024:

In addition, cardholders of the following cards can get six free months of Uber One membership anytime between now and November 14, 2024:

Uber One membership typically costs $9.99 per month and provides unlimited $0 delivery fee on eligible Uber Eats orders and groceries, a 10% discount on eligible Uber Eats orders, and a 5% discount on eligible Uber rides.

How to enroll in new Capital One Uber perks

To receive the complimentary membership, cardholders need to do the following:

  • Set up the Uber One monthly membership via the app or website.
  • Set their eligible Capital One card as a form of payment.
  • Each month cardholders will receive a statement credit through the end of the offer.

How Valuable is This New Capital One Uber Perk

The unlimited 10% cashback is a game changer and makes the Capital One Savor-branded cards the go-to ones for Uber and Uber Eats spending. While multiple cards on the market give you an enhanced cashback rate on Uber rides, none come close to the 10% mark.

Say you spend around $200 monthly on Uber and Uber Eats. The 10% cashback would net you a total of $240 in cashback over the year. This is an excellent return on your spending and is going to be hard to beat.

The closest you can get for Uber rides is if you hold the The Platinum Card® from American Express — which offers up to $200 in annual Uber Cash credits. Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.

Keep in mind the offer from the Amex cards is capped and requires utilizing the credit each month. On the other hand, the new Capital One unlimited 10% cashback on Uber purchases is available every day of the year!

PRIOR Membership

From November 15, 2022, Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card cardholders can book luxury experiences with PRIOR. The luxury travel company creates unique one-off travel experiences and content. Capital One Venture X cardholders receive the following PRIOR benefits.

  • Complimentary PRIOR subscription providing access to global travel guides, twice-weekly newsletters, and early bookings (valued at $149).
  • Cardholders can book a once-in-a-lifetime trip by redeeming points or purchasing directly with Capital One Entertainment.
  • Cardholders need to head over to the PRIOR website to enroll

Cardholder Exclusive trips

The first 3 Capital One Venture X exclusive cardholder trips for 2023 have been announced. The trips for 2024 will be announced in due course. The 3 trips for 2023 include:

Savannah, Georgia Trip [March 23-26, 2023]

A unique experience featuring dinner and jazz at the historical Savannah mansion. In addition to an underground walking experience of Savannah’s African American history with a Gullah Geechee Master Storyteller. Also, you can indulge in cocktails at the Olde Pink House and a nightcap at the Haunted Cellar bar.

Sun Valley Trip [June 29 – July 2, 2023]

An all-encompassing experience that includes, amongst other things, a stay and private dinner at the historic Sun Valley Lodge. In addition to a catch-and-release flyfishing experience, a private pontoon boat ride. You can also participate in a kayaking adventure across Redfish lake or even a  wildflower walk to a local trout cookout.

Napa and Sonoma Trip [October 19-22, 2023]

A treat for wine lovers, the trip includes a master sommelier-guided trip to various wineries and vintners. Also, guests can enjoy a private art collection viewing alongside a dining experience at Hudson Ranch. Aside from dining at the award-winning Single Thread in Sonoma, guests can also participate in a Tomales Bay oyster harvesting and tasting. During the trip, guest accommodation is at the Madrona.

Our Take

Anytime new benefits are added to a card, it is welcome news. However, the news is even sweeter this time around because it applies to a wide range of Capital One cards, mostly focused on cards that have accessible annual fees.

By far, the star of the new benefits is the unlimited 10% cashback on Uber and Uber Eats. If you are a big fan of one or both and spend a substantial amount with them yearly, the 10% cashback is a real winner.
