Earn Unlimited 2X Capital One Miles on All Purchases

Cardholders of the Spark Miles card enjoy a simple earning structure that rewards businesses with higher-than-average expenses. Earn 2X miles on every purchase and 5X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.

That's an incredible return on everyday business expenses, particularly if you plan to transfer those miles to travel partners, providing the greatest return on your miles.

Redeem Capital One Miles for a Fixed Value Towards Travel

One of the most underrated features of the Spark Miles card is the option to redeem miles for a fixed value of 1¢ each towards almost any travel expense.

This opens up two great options for utilizing your miles for a fixed value. Firstly, you can use them to book new travel directly through Capital One Travel. Alternatively, you can use your miles to offset eligible travel purchases made with the card within the last 90 days. This feature is especially useful when discovering discounted cash flights and travel deals.

Transfer Capital One Miles to Travel Partners and Other Members

With 18 airline and hotel transfer partners, Capital One provides an abundance of choices to redeem your miles for travel.

Highlights of the transfer program include Avianca Lifemiles for generous international redemptions and low out-of-pocket expenses, Wyndham Rewards, which gives you access to the hotel program with the largest footprint in the world, and Air France–KLM Flying Blue for its monthly Flying Blue Promo Rewards.

You'll also gain access to Turkish Airlines' Miles & Smiles program, a unique partner with some excellent sweet spots for North American flyers.

Another massive benefit of Capital One miles is the ability to transfer rewards to other members without the restrictive fees imposed by other issuers.

Test Drive the Card for 12 Months With a Waived Annual Fee

One of just a handful of business cards that waives the annual fee for the first year, the Spark Miles card allows new cardmembers to effectively test out the card for the first 12 months without paying an annual fee. This gives you time to evaluate the return on the spending and ensure the value proposition stacks up before committing to the card over the long term.

Even after the introductory period, the ongoing annual fee remains more than reasonable at just $95.

Valuable Benefits Provide More Value than the Annual Fee Each Year

Unlike premium business cards that come loaded with perks and benefits, the Spark Miles card only delivers a few core features that provide tangible value for cardholders.

Airport lounge access

Cardholders get two one-time passes per year to access Capital One or Plaza Premium lounges.

Rental car insurance

While most cards only provide secondary rental car coverage, the Spark Miles for Business offers a primary collision damage waiver. This feature is essential, as it activates before your personal insurance policy, providing enhanced coverage. You must charge the entire rental cost to your Spark Miles card and decline the rental company's collision damage waiver. By doing so, you'll be safeguarded against damages resulting from collisions or theft. Although they are lower on the needs list, you'll also gain access to extended warranty and purchase protection when purchasing new equipment with your card.

Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit

Once every four years, you'll receive a Global Entry or TSA Precheck credit valued at up to $100. This is an excellent benefit if you travel regularly, saving you time through security.

No foreign transaction fees

Another great benefit if you are a regular traveler, you'll pay no foreign transaction fees when making purchases overseas with your Spark Miles card.

Final Thoughts

The Capital One Spark Miles for Business is an excellent entry-level business card that delivers a surprising amount of value despite its low annual fee. The card features a high-value welcome bonus, waives the annual fee for the first year, and provides an excellent return on everyday business expenses.

Am I correct in the belief that this credits card reports to your personal credit report, such that it impacts Chase’s 5/24 status?

    • Ryan Smith says:

That’s correct. The Spark Cash Plus is the only card Capital One has confirmed as not reporting to personal credit reports.
