Not all points and miles redemptions happen by booking flights or reserving hotel rooms. There are other lesser-known ways to use points, such as using them to book experiences through Marriott Bonvoy Moments. Let's look at exactly what this is and how you can use your Marriott Bonvoy points for fun new experiences.

What Is Marriott Bonvoy Moments?

Marriott Bonvoy Moments give members exclusive access to things like concerts, festivals, sporting events, culinary experiences, and more. Some experiences are auctions where you bid points in hopes of winning, while others have a fixed-price point. Additionally, the experiences are always changing based on what events are happening at the time.

Marriott Bonvoy Moments arranges offerings into four categories:

  • Arts & Lifestyle — These are things like cultural tours, museum exhibits, art lessons, wellness weekends, and more.
  • Culinary — In this category, you can do things like dine at high-end restaurants (even Michelin-starred ones!), take cooking classes, go on food tours, and more.
  • Entertainment — This includes things like tickets to concerts and music festivals. It also includes suite packages for a true VIP experience.
  • Sports — No matter your sport, Marriott Bonvoy Moments has something for you. There are options for baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, racing, and more.

Marriott Bonvoy Moments has a long list of partners that allow them to offer these experiences to their members. These are big names like American Express, Chase, NCAA, PepsiCo, NFL, and more.

How To Purchase Marriott Bonvoy Moments

First, log in to your Marriott Bonvoy account using your email or member number and password. Next, find the experience you're interested in on the Marriott Bonvoy Moments page. There are two types of Marriott Bonvoy Moments purchases.

Redeeming is simple and straightforward, and you don't have to worry about being outbid. You will select the quantity that you want, then select “redeem now.” After this, you can go through the confirmation process to finalize your purchase.

In this case, you are placing a bid and hoping to be the winner when the bidding ends. There are two ways to place your bid. First, you can enter a one-time bid in the increment amount listed. Second, you can place a maximum bid and the bidding system will automatically bid for you in the required increment amount until bidding closes, or your maximum bid amount is reached.

You will automatically be dropped from the bidding process once your maximum bid is reached. However, if someone bids higher, then you are able to set a new maximum bid amount.
