Summer is nearly here, and promotions are bountiful, with Marriott, SPG, and Ritz-Carlton all running their own promotions which are unique, unlike the last global promotion which was the same for all three programs.

SPG Take Three Promotion

SPG Take Three Summer 2017 Promotion

The latest promotion from Starwood Preferred Guest for Summer 2017 is Take Three and will let you earn double or triple points depending on when you stay. The key terms of the promotion are as follows:

  • Registration period from May 15, to August 30, 2017
  • Promotion earning period from May 27, through September 4, 2017
  • Earn double points on all weekday stays of 2+ nights
  • Earn triple points for weekend stays, stay must be at least two nights and include a Friday or Saturday night
  • Earn an additional 1,500 Starpoints per resort stay, if you hold the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card

Marriott Rewards MegaBonus Infinite Points

Marriott Rewards MegaBonus Summer 2017

Marriott’s Summer 2017 MegaBonus promotion has been “gamified” somewhat, and what you earn will depend on how many stays you make, and how many different brands you stay. The key terms are as follows:

  • Registration period from May 15, to August 30, 2017
  • Promotion earning period from May 27, through September 4, 2017
  • Earn 2,000 bonus points per stay, beginning with your second stay
  • Earn an additional 2,000 points for stays at each of the Marriott’s 18 brands, starting with your second brand

Ritz-Carlton Rewards Summer Sojourns

Ritz-Carlton Summer Jojourns 2017

The Ritz-Carlton promotion is the most straightforward of all three, and possibly the least generous since it only applies for stays of two nights or more. The key terms are as follows:

  • Registration period from May 15, to August 30, 2017
  • Promotion earning period from May 27, through September 4, 2017
  • Earn double points on all stays of two nights or more, with no earning limits

Our Take

With different promotions available and the possibility of being a member of two of the three programs, there is scope to maximize your benefit from these promotions. Regardless, when staying at a Marriott, Ritz-Carlton or Starwood property, the best card to use will be your Marriott Bonvoy Amex. At 2x SPG points per dollar, which convert to 6 Marriott Rewards or Ritz-Carlton Rewards it is the way to go. How you maximize your potential earning will entirely depend on your stay patterns. Remember, it is free to register for all of these promotions, so get to it!

  • Another cracking offer from the group. Personally I would prefer the 2000 pts pernight offer out of the three, I’m sure there is opportunity here with buying points in either of the three schemes to make the deals even sweeter.

  • Bertrand Say says:

Marriott usually have some of the worst promos. I hope this does not happen with SPG now that Marriott has bought them.

  • Thanks! I can always rely on this blog to make sure I register for these kinds of promotions.

  • Not bad as promo.
Anyway, it’s important to register in order not to forget about this promo later.

  • I actually don’t mind the “gameified” options with things like this and IHG Accelerate, etc. Sometimes allows for some easy overlap for bigger points. Not always of course, but sometimes.

  • I will register for the Marriott and SPG promotions. My IHG Accelerate promotion is the most generous for me.

  • Ryan Schmid says:

SPG is so well-organized, it’s my favorite point to earn.

  • Always welcome for bonus points on anything. I have been dreaming of a Hawaiian sunset now for months! I so need the beach! I don’t know about you but I am ready for a much needed vacation. Horrible few months now and their was a study that the blue ocean relaxes and refreshes a person the most. Who’s with me?! Hawaii Mariott here we come!

  • It’s too bad you can’t register for both the Marriott and Ritz promos.

  • Nice! Got some upcoming trips planned with SPG.

  • Do you have to stay 2+ nights if is weekday on starwood?

  • says:

Luckily I read this. Marriott stay coming up this week!! Thanks!!

  • Rob Arias says:

Awesome way to get a lot more points. Hopefully I’ll be able to snatch up a few on my next vacation.

  • First time ever I see a promo where Marriott requires to stay in various brands. It was usually SPG or IHG that were asking for that.

  • Ack, good promo, wish I had some stays counting up…perhaps it’s time tonite all some!

  • I wish I had someplace to go in order to use theses promotions. Could definetely use SPG points towards future trips.

  • SPG and Marriott are becoming Increasingly important in my stay patterns, so it’s always good to be able to boost my Starpoints earning!

  • trying to get as many SPG points before the merger, as the airline benefit may disappear next year.
