Skye Class

Staff Writer

Skye joined the AwardWallet team in 2019. After leaving his full-time job in 2014 to travel the world, he’s created his own website to make traveling a reality for everyone, no matter their financial means. He’s a big fan of reward program for anyone with a credit card, and has used several of the programs himself.

Skye can most often be found working diligently in a cafe somewhere in the world. So far he’s been to 51 countries and counting. He travels the world in a van, never content to stay in the same place for long (unless it’s at the top of a mountain overlooking a beautiful sea).

Get 100% Bonus Miles When Transferring Wyndham Rewards to United MileagePlus

Wyndham Rewards is currently 100% bonus miles when transferring points to United MileagePlus miles before July 31, 2022. After the bonus, you can get 1 United MileagePlus mile per 2.5 Wyndham Rewards points transferred, instead of the usual 5:1 ratio. That still isn’t a great transfer rate, but if you need United MileagePlus miles this month, it could be a good option.

Emirates Skywards Fuel Surcharges Skyrocket. Will Other Airlines Follow?

This year, Emirates Skywards fuel surcharges have increased several times for awards flights, jacking up the out-of-pocket cost of some awards from under $200 to over $800 – bringing into question the value of Skywards miles. Only time will tell whether the fuel surcharges come back down if and when the price of fuel drops (unlikely) and if other airlines follow suit (likely).
